You did a great job! I like the Rit Dye method as it allows you to get the color you want. If you want to make it darker you can dye it again without having to refinish the stock, just dye over the existing oil finish.

Shooters Discount has stainless steel mini-14 police trade ins. They have the black plastic stocks, flash hiders and bayonet lugs. The ones I saw look to be lightly used. I don't know the price offhand. I believe Shooters Discount will be at the Fredrick show this weekend just maybe no Lou.
