      Weight reduction for people who don't want to mount anything on their handguards. Even if you mount a couple accessories on yours, it'll still be more weight from all the unused rail on that handguard. For some it doesn't matter, but for others it does. And, they can sell more accessories...

      Purchasing a long gun out of state?

      I've never had my PA PICS check delayed. It's always instant within a minute. When inquiring, the LGS said they've noticed if you're delayed once you seem to always be delayed and if you go through instantly that seems to be the case as well. No idea how much that holds true, but I wouldn't...

      .270Win .30-06 .308 6.8 SPC 6.5CM .243Win Have used them all in the last couple years. Love the .270Win for deer hunting, but take the others here and there for variety.

      Vortex makes great scopes. Their customer service is top notch as well. Personally, I'm satisfied with the performance of their Diamondback line for the price but also have a Viper and the improved clarity is noticeable.

      Federal Duck Stamps?

      The Federal stamp does not need to be affixed to your license for the very situation you mentioned above - hunting in multiple states. It does need to be signed in ink across the face and in your possession when hunting waterfowl.

      Light Goose Conservation Order

      Many people do it. Going for them again next Monday. By mid-to-late March most of the large flocks are already headed north of our area. Best to get into them in February. You can even hunt them in DE with a MD license and a DE permit

      I moved from MD to PA this past year and cannot recall any such tax. Just did my income tax returns for the year and filed as part-year residents of each state. How does MD know you are not buying another house within the state? You'd be hearing a lot more about it if everyone selling their MD...
