Without wandering too much off the topic of utility trailers, and generally speaking of course, I believe the Mazda Miata to be one of those rare cars that aren't expensive (especially when bought used), are more reliable than the great majority of vehicles in the US (and any US-made vehicle...
That's a nice one! A little longer than what I need, but other than the wood being a little grey it looks new and has all the features. I plan on storing it in the garage, so I'm trying to focus on one that's not too long.
Thanks for posting!
I see...makes sense! I'm not sure how much that tilting mechanism would make my life easier. If I were to buy a trailer with it, I'd probably just bolt it in the locked position. The same goes for the folding mechanism.
Thanks for the clarification!
It takes a bit of back and forth finding the info. on the MD gov sites, but other than the cost of an inspection, which is market price, here's what I found. My research was for a new utility trailer kit that I would have to assemble and add at least the floor. Judging from the replies, it...
Thank you for the info.! I'll be needing something for this Summer and only recently started researching the subject. I had thought about buying an old truck but if a small trailer can handle the job, I much rather spend the money on an old Corvette or Miata after the remodel is completed.
Thank you Sir! I had seen a vid where someone recommended better wire looms that would withstand the UV rays, but your suggestions are even better! One complaint I saw on vids on the folding HFT trailer was finding a way to make the license plate swing so that I doesn't get bent if/when you fold...
Good point! There seems to be multiple options for the hitches too, and depending on the car (whether made in Japan or the US), it may require drilling and tapping some holes on the frame. That's something else I have to research, but I wanted to get an idea of cost to register first.
Thank...
Very cool trailer! I liked the tracks on the sides and the protected lights, but I'm hoping to buy something before June or July of 2025.
Thanks for the heads-up!
Excellent, that's very good to know! Even though I haven't really decided on which trailer, this morning I received an email from HFT with a coupon for 15% off anything in the store! From what I've seen, they're the cheapest but ironically have one of the higher load carrying capacity for the...
Guys, it was going so well! I appreciate the feedback on the utility trailers I inquired about, but I'm not asking for opinions on vehicles, much less one I've owned and maintained for years.
Thanks again!
The factory manual. If as stated above, even the cheap trailers are last 10-20 years, then in all likelihood the Camry will be replaced before the trailer's unusable.
Now that's funny! I don't need a lot of trailer. I'm even wondering if I can get 4X8 sheets of drywall to lay on a 4X8 trailer if I build up the sides so the drywall sits above the wheel wells. I'll be needing quite a few sheets of drywall before the trailer is used primarily for yard work and...
Wow, thanks for all the excellent feedback!
I had no idea I could register it in a state other than where I'd be using it! I'll definitely look into that!
I have to verify the cost for an inspection, but I've yet to see a decent used one for a good price. I think a new one with the papers to...
I'm thinking about buying a small, inexpensive, utility trailer for picking stuff up at stores and garden centers on occasion; drywall, lumber, plants, mulch, etc., as well as taking trash and yard waste to the dump.
I've searched the Maryland MDOT site and could not find any info on the...
