In case there's anyone here who trusts the CDC after four years of obfuscation and outright lies, it is now suppressing data on defensive gun use, after lobbying by anti-2A groups. Law Enforcement Today article:
CDC removes self-defense gun use stats after private meeting with gun control...
The good, the bad, the ugly, from today's MSI email:
END OF SESSION REPORT 2024
As usual the General Assembly Session was horrid. The major anti-gun bill that passed this year was House Bill 947, which attempts to do an end-run around immunity from suit accorded to the firearms...
I was inexplicably locked out of my ancient laptop this AM, and tried to access MDS from an even older desktop computer that sees very little use. I hoped that someone would be able to assist me in regaining access to my laptop.
I was unable to log onto MDS, presumably because my password had...
Apparently there's a lot of hoplophobia in the Tucson area, at least in its legislative bodies. They are going full-bore to enact laws far stricter that those of the state, which is of course forbidden by state law. Of course, they don't care.
(One wonders how many former MD, MoCo residents and...
I believe the lawyers who won this judgement are posters here:

Had a few issues recently with the classified ad process.
It would really be useful if we could return to ther old "Commit to buy" system, wherein a seller would post an object and a price, the buyer would commit to purchase, and the deal would be locked in and the ad delisted at that time...
It'd be of interest to look at changes in violent crimes over time, to see of there's any correlation. I don't know how to get MSP to release the info.
Beyond that, figures regarding number of permit holders charged with crimes would also be interesting.
@tallen702 recommended a book to me: Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky, and it came as an awakening to me to realise the surprising value of salt in a pre-refrigeration economy. After all, who thinks about something so commonplace and easily come by?
Nevertheless, it has throughout...
Apparently procedure wasn't followed when Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith as Special Counsel. A pair of law professors and former AG Ed Meese filed a brief denying the validity of his appointment.
QUESTION PRESENTED
Whether private citizen Jack Smith lacks authority to represent the...
Owner says he's paying more for security than rent; not passing it onto customers. "Not sustainable!"

Sadly, they are not allowed to carry firearms when off duty. On the job, it's OK.
Some people are concerned; most presumed oblivious.

My daughter needs some work in her house, to undo previous work under previous owner. An un-needed closet that created a too-narrow doorway needs to be restored to previous function, and a passageway into a room needs to be closed off. There may be a few other similar bits.
She is in the...
Bill introduced a week ago; somehow I doubt it'll get much traction. Maybe we need more mass murders?
Yeah, that'll help. Make sure to target the Deplorables . . . Jews would be good. Call the Bureau, get them to activate one of their sleepers . . .
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Elizabeth...
I just found a link to a study done in 2012; A cache of commonly prescribed drugs, which expired 28 to 40 years before testing, were examined to determine the remaining level of potency, if any.
The drugs were sealed in their original packaging.
It was determined that most were between 90 and...
Apparently she was not concealing her pistol, for which she had a permit. Busted for being on school grounds.
This will be interesting. I assume she has enough sense to avoid hostile mobs, so this might be a deliberate political act...
Stephen Halbrook, whose ground-breaking books about gun control during WWII and after are classics, posted this article about Merrick Garlland and his attempts to go far beyond any legal framework to infringe and criminalise the US gun owner. I'll post the entire article:
Second Amendment...
Reason published an article regarding recent polling about gun registration, and the opinions on the subject of trust in the government. The numbers may be encouraging to some here. (Apparently adherence to the tenets of NY's "SAFE Act," never very high, continues to decline).
Actually, the...
In an attempt to arm Apple Computer's security staff because of threats to CEO Tim Cook, Apple partook of a scheme to get Carry Permits from the Sheriff's office, only to get shaken down. Lots of fraud, lots of irony, lots of Just Plain Californication. So to speak...
What it says. Taking forever to post, to switch threads, and sometimes it refuses to quote the poster when replying to their posts.
Edit: took over 4 minutes to post. It's worse than my prostate.
Bought an old 1917 that had been reworked into Fitz configuration, but the original gunsmith didn't bob the hammer.
I posted in the "Gunsmith" area, got 130+ views, but only one response, referencing a gunsmith in AZ. I'd really prefer someone close to home, if any of y'all know of one.
