Yeah this thread went waaaay longer than it needed to. It's either a broken/incorrect disconnector spring, out of spec disconnector, or incorrect sear angles. All point to the fire control group.
The reason why your trigger was firing on release/reset in the other rifle was due to--interestingly...
That's a Persian alright! One of my favorites. There is a great page on them, google "Persian Mauser" or "Brno" for it. The import marked ones usually have the electropen under the lower handguard towards the muzzle, or very nastily on the left side of the chamber. Maybe you got lucky with an...
100% it's a Persian mauser carbine (please stop saying it's arabic). Second pic is of the left side of the receiver and partially shows a lion/sword/sunrise crest, and reads: "karabin nemuNehemiah 1328 sakht eslihah-e sazi artesh" and translates to "model 1328 Carbine made by the Army atsenal."...
Posts like this, and the true good will of those who respond, are why I love MDS as well, and maintain a presence here even though I escaped to a more 2A friendly state.
Thanks guys for being awesome. There is not a better forum like this around, and you are all truly classy in the world of...
Well, shit. I did steps 1 and 2, maybe I didn't break the pin but since I did #2 about 3 times I guess I should just go ahead and do step 3.
Oh, as far as the condition on mine, looks great. Bore is near mint. I will get picks up later...after I check the firing pin!
I have a Star Modelo B and 2 PPK/s with INTERARMS proudly emblazoned on their sides, and no regrets. They look much better than the ones on some of my others.
I know...just sort of my conundrum with the P38/P1...I like the idea of an all-steel P38 but finding a quality one in that sweet spot...
I picked this up Friday, thought that $400 was a bit much but might be a steal and I have wanted one of these for a bit. I love that it is a FRENCH P1, rather than something with Waffenampts (I swore at the beginning of this that I would never own anything that had them). It did come with 4 mags...
So the issue I have is that it was jeweled on the trigger and chamber (as it appears through the ejection port). Not untasteful and seems well done, like someone took pride in it. But diminishes the value a bit from a certain perspective.
I might see if he will take $500 for it.
Thanks Machodoc...seems I'n techtarded tonight. Yes, got mine from SOG too.
Also didn't mean to put the ENTIRE serial # out there...like I'm new or something.
We'll see how the other one looks when I get it cleaned up this weekend.
Okay folks, here's the deal....
I actually got TWO. Why? Because 2 is 1 and 1 is none. THe first one is AMAZING. No chance it was ever shot, little evidence it was ever holstered, and there was of course all the nice stuff with it. Pics tell the story better than I can. I have to wait for the...
So, I am not in MD anymore (sorry guys, I like to rub that in) but this is still my home as far as C&R forums. Stopped by a really great little LGS today and asked him what interesting things he had NOT in the case. He went in the back mumbling something about a "Chinese Makarov" and emerged...
