      Application progress banter thread

That seems to be normal back log. When I was looking for appointments 3rd week of August, I had to settle for Mid September appointment...it was approved quicker than 90 days though. YMMV. (Approved in 50 days)

Upgrades to Eforms are coming tonight

This doesn't bother anyone waiting on an application already submitted, does it?

      Printing the DC permit

And a final "news alert," my MD permit arrived in the USPS today. I was very happy to hear about the repeal of the 20 round carry rule, that was repealed, while I was in DC submitting my DC application! (Mid Sept). So that was good timing :D And, tbh, I ordered 10 round magazines specifically...

      Application Progress Tracking Thread

Almost all the same dates (my NICS was 10/24), I got mine in the mail today! Official official! NC, MD, DC. 40 states and one District. I agree whole heartedly, next step is Constitutional Carry.

      Printing the DC permit

Yup. I received MPD's email with my CCW and my (two) Reg cards couple days ago. Very impressed as it was only 50 days after submitting the application up at MPD. My work sends me to VA/MD and places further north quite a bit, so it was important to me to have permits for a state (MD) and a...

      Printing the DC permit

Quality suggestions and excellent point about handing over an unlocked phone to LEO. Love the lock screen idea!

      Printing the DC permit

I'm bumping this thread but with a slight twist. How is everyone keeping them stored digitally on a smartphone? In pictures? PDF App? Apple Wallet? (Or equivalent for those with Google phones) I was hoping there would be some easy conversion to keeping it in my Apple Wallet for access. I still...

I am most of the same dates (8/24,8/29,11/1 approved) but still waiting on mine to arrive in the mail. I also live in NC, so I'm "building in" a little extra time. Still eager lol.

Yes, come on down. We are also permitless open carry in vehicle and on person as well.

      Application Progress Tracking Thread

I can only speak for my state (NC) with full confidence. NC will accept ALL state permits. This is why we do not offer "Non Resident Permits" except in limited circumstances for Active Duty Military who still have residency away from base. I have no need for Utah's NR permit because my NC...

      Application Progress Tracking Thread

I had to take an additional trip to VA/DC in order to hand deliver my app to MPD (qualified for both MD and DC prior month of Aug in Fairfax, VA). I made it a 2 night stay and clinched some landmarks I had yet to see in person. Even did a tour of the US Capitol. Very pleased that both MD and DC...

      Wait time for DC CCW

Submitted initial ccw app at Metro PD Sept 14. Today, 11/4, I just got the email from the Washington, DC MPD with my digital CC Pistol Permit! Coincidentally enough all 3 of my permits (NC, MD, Wash,DC) all expire within a month of each other (by Dec 2024) given that I have had my NC permit 3...

It's Christmas week here! Mailbox should have my MD wear & carry any day now (Approved 11/01) but I just got the email from the Washington, DC MPD with my digital CC Pistol Permit! Great Friday! Coincidentally enough all 3 of my permits (NC, MD, Wash,DC) all expire within a month of each other...

That's good to hear, and fair to keep their place in line.

I would hope that simply submitting docs wouldn't conclude in denial, rather than just a simple "pause until we get these things fixed." Denials should be very objective, with appeals process. No more "justifiable need" or "because we feeeeeel like you shouldn't be approved."

More than "could," it is a barrier. And gross. But that's for another day I guess.

      Application progress banter thread

From the tracking thread, it doesn't seem there has been bias or priority on resident or non resident, from the sample size I have followed at least. I am non resident (NC) and it took roughly 55 days from acceptance to NICS, 8 additional days to approval, for total of 63 days, right in line...

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

They should not get any additional time. "Balance tests," "Public safety interest," "Strict Scrutiny, or Intermediate Scrutiny," are all STRUCK DOWN post NYSRPA v Bruen. There's one test now, and that's historical tradition of fire arm regulation in 1791, when 2A was ratified. That's it. That's...
