Your First gun---either as a kid or an adult?

My first that was my very own was a Ruger P89D in 2003... makes me older than some members, younger than the rest. :)

      Nations gun show, Feb 11th-13th

I snickered to myself around closing today when the announcer reminded the crowd that their stamps would be good for tomorrow... I bet a table of Febreeze would sell pretty well tomorrow. Also (unrelated), the sweet/spicy/smokey beef jerky sticks in the center of the show were pretty tasty.

      Dulles Gun Show

There were quite a few vendors last time that had big cardboard boxes of pmags. Iirc, most of them were in the back right quandrant of the hall. Windowed, non-windowed, FDE, black, and green were all available for a price comparable to online shopping ($14-$17). The shipping costs that you...

Any good Delis in the Wheaton area?

+1 for Parkway Deli. My favorite reuben and matzoball soup in Montgomery county. I agree that Woodside is good, but I work in Silver Spring, and have more often ended up at Parkway for lunch. Their potato pancakes aren't the best, but their knishes are pretty good too. P.S.: From your...

      New-ish range policy?

Wow, thank you for the replies. Though it's a bit of a drive for me, I will try to make it up to Continental sometime this summer. I haven't been down to MSAR in a few years, but I'll give them a shot too if the rental selection is good. To elaborate the scenario, the day I visited...

Guns you have/had that you don't like

The Beretta 9000s. Mine was a Type-D. Possibly one of the most awkward grips I've ever held. I suppose it was slim enough width-wise, but it was shaped like it was holding a single stack of .357 mag. My pinky and corresponding length of my palm would also hang off the bottom of the grip...

      New-ish range policy?

In the few years that I've been a gun owner, I've never actually rented a gun at a shooting range. My experiences have been limited to my own guns, and trying the firearms of friends and friends of friends. Recently, being in the market for another pistol, I went to Gilbert's (they're the...

      Hello from Rockville

I found some good recommendations for a shop called Gun Connection while lurking on this site a few months ago. I doubt he remembers some random schmoe who showed up to his shop once, but Dan said I should sign up. Better late than never right? :o
