Hello!
Have a MD Legal Aero Precision Upper with a 16" Ballistic Advantage HBAR-marked Barrel and a 15" Midwest Industries Combat Rail. Muzzle Device is a Surefire Procomp. Gas Block/Tube is all Aero as well. Also comes with a Strike Industries FDE Dust Cover. I have exactly 125rounds through...
Not directly related to the original question but had a question about applying for a Nonresident permit. On the VSP website it says that for fingerprints to go to the VSP barracks or local law enforcement office. Most police departments are shut down/are not doing "non-essential" fingerprinting...
Title says it all. Definitely been answered before but I can't find it. Hypothetically as a VA resident, can someone take their VA purchased/legal non-HBAR, 16" AR-15 rifle (not pistol) to shoot at a range in MD? Or would I have to slap an HBAR barrel on it before I cross state lines?
Thanks!
99% sure Mids/training command cannot have firearms on base. Normally military are exempt from HQL and go off the address of their orders. They would fill out the 4473 with both their home address and their base address (in MD of course). They would also do the same on the 77R for regulated...
OP,
Start with a stripped lower-PSA has them for $49.99. Aero has good quality ones for a bit more. Buy a complete upper w/BCG if you only have basic tools/no vice/no torque wrench-PSA has good deals and Aero does as well. Just buy a lower parts kit and it can all be assembled with common...
I run an AR9 with a Stern Defense complete upper and Stern Defense magwell insert. Saw it on Iraqveteran8888 and was hooked-pair it with a Spikes Tactical ST-TX 9mm buffer/308 spring and it runs like a champ. Takes Glock mags and I can reset it back to a AR-15 lower in 2 mins. Keep it as a home...
Keep in mind that you can do multiple items on one 4473...so if you ordered multiple lowers you would distribute the transfer cost...Brownells has Aero lowers fro $76ish-get two and your total per lower is $80-90. Much better quality/deal than an Anderson. Heck, grab a few PSA lowers for $50...
1. Just separate your uppers and lowers if you don't/can't store out of state
2. If you are here on orders and don't intend to stay/plan to PCS elsewhere...you technically are a resident of both MD and FL...it's a grey area so contact MD State Police to clarify
3. No restrictions on ammo
Anyone get any word on opening anytime soon? I have a few stimulus purchases that I'm itching to take out to the range...was hoping since this is in a WMA and the rest of Myrtle Grove appears to be open...
Just my 2 cents from my experience...
PSA-Sub $100, functional; about 85% chance of normal reliable function/not a dud from factory
Aero/Spikes-Roughly $100-$110, basic Mil-Spec quality; about 95% reliable/duty ready
SOLGW-$110-$120, basic Mil-Spec, but you pay for the QC, duty quality...
Spikes Tactical ST-9X with Springco 308 spring on my 8inch Stern Defense upper runs like butter. Running an SBA3 but like others have said the SB PDW brace uses a standard M4 buffer tube unlike a Maxim or something.
I think Myrtle Grove WMA in Charles County is as close as I've found to outdoors shoot-where-you-want kind of feel. It's in the woods, goes out to 100, shoot whatever you want, 5 bucks a stop or 20 for the year. No RSOs or formalities, police yourselves/clean up after yourselves and just have a...
Hey All,
I'm not sure if I'm worrying about nothing or if I should just call MSP. I did my paperwork on a simple S&W M&P 9 on Friday evening (17th), been checking on MSP from Tuesday-Today and the status is still "submitted to application pool" instead of "under review at MSP". Is this the new...
I think it's a case where if you as a individual try to buy from the PSA website they do not ship completed lowers to MD...buddy tried and got the same answer. But if the purchase request comes from an FFL/authorized PSA dealer itself they will. The funny thing is that PSA ships stripped lowers...
