If you don't have your own land. The benefits I see are limited number of hunters, so not avoiding others on public land, typically good chances of seeing deer, allows for a longer firearm season. Just to name a few.
Wicked Boar Outdoors in SC is a good time. I was there earlier this year and hogs a plenty. You can find him on Facebook and Google. Nichols SC is not a bad drive from MD. I tried different outfitters in NC and didn't have any luck. I don't think NC has quite the hog population.
So, I came across this video about a "parent load" but have not found any discussion elsewhere on the webs. What are your opinions on it?

I was able to score and 8# of HH335 last time I was driving by greentop on I95. i will probably use the 3031 for some 308 and stick with the 335 on .223
Thanks for all the input.
I was wondering if anyone in PG or Chuck county has some 300blk cast boolits for subsonic plinking? trying to determine if it is worth the effort before I got another mold.
I have and can offer lead (WW and soft lead) in return.
I did work up a load in H335, but ran out of that. Not sure when I'll get more. The other choices I'm looking at are 8208 and 4350.
Honestly, the hh35 leaked through my lee auto drum like a sieve but otherwise I liked it.
anyone using IMR3031 for reloading 223 in an AR platform? What do you think of it? What are your results with it?

I am looking to get into waterfowl. Anyone out there in southern MD (PG, Charles, La Plata) got room for one more? What would I need equipment wise besides shotgun and non toxic shot?
That really is unfortunate about the guide getting mauled by the bears. Definitely something to think about when preparing, whether it will be a solo hunt or with some other people.
As for my planning, I think I am leaning more towards hunting CO. I am going to drive, so CO is a bit closer...
Anyone here dove hunt public land in Southern MD. I have not dove hunted before but was going to try this year. I know Chetleham, Myrtle Grove and Chicamuxen have been planted, but curious if it is worth the time to check it out.
I will be using a 12 ga, Remington 870, 28" barrel with...
So, some you have mentioned hiking about 3 to 4 hours to get away from other hunters. The trails and roads are only about 1 to 2 miles apart and average about 4 to 6 miles in length. Are you going down the trail for a while then going off? Looking at the satellite view and topo view I can't...
Awesome picture Wilcam. I take it you have a trail cam set up. I suppose Elk are like whitetail in that the younger ones tend to be more tender....:bannana:
On another note, I came across the staff roster including the biologists for ID at...
I am looking at hunting in Aug/Sept 2019 so tags don't go on sale until Dec 31. I think I will get my tag pretty early. It is looking like Palisades or Tex Creek are the way to go. The guy from Elk Shape mentioned Pioneer Mountain as well, but I think I will stick to the eastern side of the...
Thanks for the info Wilcam!!! I am getting my archery hunting safety course done this September. It is not required for MD. Which unit do you hunt? I was considering 22 but do not have an overly compelling reason other than decent success percentages last few years. I have read wolves are a...
Great info Crabby. If you don't mind sharing, what unit in ID will you and have hunted?
October means rifle hunting? I was thinking I would go earlier as I think most rifle OTC tags are bull elks. I feel like an any elk tag would offer more opportunities even though you have to hey closer...
Any suggestions on a particular unit in CO? I've read that CO has more elk but also more hunters to go with them.
I'm a bit wary about heading out in the backcountry alone for a week especially if I have to haul meat back.
Driving is a definite possibility.
Thanks for the responses...
