The "best" home defense firearm- Vigilance Elite

And yet, you claimed the shottie is a "terrible" HD weapon, in part, without apparently considering that there are many kinds of shotties, and some of them make your objections...trouble maneuvering in a hallway or one-handed shooting etc, practically irrelevant. Whatever hypothetical scenario...

The "best" home defense firearm- Vigilance Elite

A butterknife is a terrible home defense weapon. But even that is better than having nothing. A shotty is not a terrible HD weapon. I wouldn't rely on just one home defense weapon, but my shotgun choice in that situation is Standard Manufacturing's DP12 (double barrel pump 12ga). Can I...

Why haven't you left the city yet?

Speaking of diesel, the local fuel seller near me is at $1.90/gal for ag/off-road (AKA red-dyed) diesel/home heating oil. I made a few trips with a 130 gallon tank in the truck bed and filled the house tank, the garage tank, then filled a few 55 gallon barrels just because I had 'em. I thought I...

      Preparing For Spreading Coronavirus

Who will keep MDS up and running when the apocalypse hits? But seriously, there's an artesian spring near my house. The water is awesome. But I've wondered sometimes how that resource would be treated if a zombie apocalypse happened. I could imagine some meanies coming in and commandeering the...

Any of you folks shoot lever guns?

I picked up a .357/.38 Henry Big Boy All Weather (stainless) a year or two ago. Had some issues, sent it back to Henry, they massaged the chamber and it's been flawless since. Same as others have said about their lever guns, it shoots very accurately even with steel sights and is a real hoot.

No good deed goes unpunished in MD?

I think I'd buy a canoe and risk an unfortunate fishing accident long before I'd give up a collection like that...or any other.

Savage Mark II fail to extract

Roger that. I'll try removing the ring/spring and cleaning the whole thing. I only cleaned the face and easily accessible surfaces this morning. Went out back and...same problem. 1 in 10 wouldn't extract. Oddly enough, when one FTE'd, I pulled the mag, cycled the bolt, and it extracted like a...

Savage Mark II fail to extract

My son and I were out back yesterday messing around on the range when we started having problems with spent casings occasionally not extracting. I could pull them out easily enough with a small screwdriver, but still...it was irritating. I pulled the bolt this morning to take a peek and I'm not...

No good deed goes unpunished in MD?

Your first mistake can be found in the first clause of this sentence. "Shall not be infringed" doesn't mean it's OK to "sensibly" infringe. Because, to the "terrible people" who wrote and passed MD's unconstitutional gun laws, they're the "sensible" ones. Give them an unconstitutional inch...

.223/.556 bulk - best place to buy?

According to radical feminist critical theory, women only get paid 79 cents on the dollar compared to men. So definitely buy from the Joan dude in the dress. That Jon guy's swimming in gravy.

      Buying too much ammo?

The Ministry of Truthiness does it's best to terrify people about arms. The word "arsenal" is used to describe what many gun owners think of as a good start. Here's an example: Philadelphia police seize massive arsenal of weapons from suicidal man's home The man, who has been hospitalized, had...

Why does an Assault Weapons ban not Require a Contitutional Amendment?

Ann Coulter has a good article on the history of birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. It originated with a court dicta (a comment/footnote with no legal power behind it) in 1982. http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2018-10-31.html

Why does an Assault Weapons ban not Require a Contitutional Amendment?

I don't think anybody has argued for a very long time that the descendants of slaves shouldn't be citizens. But running across the border and squatting out a kid wasn't ever covered by the 14th Amendment.
