      The Barter Thread

I have 370 new (maybe 2-3 years old) OEM .40 cal Speer hollow point, full-up rounds, mostly brass cases but some shiny silver (nickel plated?) Law Enforcement ammo to trade for some .223/5.56 or 9 MM OEM hollow points (not reloads). Not sure how to post this on the main, ammo-swap thread.

      AR-15 build info.

Just saw your older 2015 post. My son and I want to “build” another AR-15 since I cannot afford the prices to buy one from a gun store nowadays (if you can even find one). I am not a gunsmith and do not want to build one from the ground up. I’d prefer to buy an assembled lower and upper and...

Just another law abiding citizen in MD trying to acquire my hand gun permit

Not to be too pessimistic but having sat through many Handgun Permit Review Board meetings and talked to the Maryland State Police (MSP) about delays, lifting of restrictions, etc., nobody knows how long you will wait. The MSP-driven permitting people have drug their feet on lots of these...

MD CCW, is it legal to put pistol in car lock box to enter "gun free zone" store.

What is likely to happen is a 3rd party will see the gun, or a print, and call the police. If it happens in a store plainly market No-Weapons, when the cops arrive, the store owner can insist you be charged. Better to not go in but step to the door, ask the manager to come to the door, then...

MD CCW, is it legal to put pistol in car lock box to enter "gun free zone" store.

I asked a US Law Shield attorney that question last week. He said the weapon of a MD W&C permit holder must be on his/her person or within reach. Period. It cannot be left loaded in a car. If not on the person, it must be in "transport" configuration: unloaded and in a locked case, as far...

MD CCW, is it legal to put pistol in car lock box to enter "gun free zone" store.

The guy below said "Signs in MD do not have the force of law. (Not talking about government buildings here) If it’s discovered you’re carrying you can be asked to leave and if you don’t you can be arrested for trespassing." and I think that is one approach. Just make sure it is COMPLETELY...

What is a business owner for a handgun carry permit in MD?

Excellent advice. And then flow some funds (deposits and payments) through a separate checking account in that business name. MSP will want to see that. And give all the info to them up front, even if they don't ask for it. Overwhelm them with documentation so they just give in and issue the...

Speak-Up Locally for the 2A and W&CP Whenever Possible

If you live in Maryland's 4th Congressional District, I think Anthony Brown (D) is your Congressman. I received an email announcing a Town Hall Meeting this coming Saturday morning: WHAT: Town Hall with your Congressman WHEN: Saturday, July 27, 10 AM WHERE: Crofton Woods Elementary...

HPRB July 8, 2019 Meeting Thread

I think it just means if the applicant has a defense contractor restriction, or wants one, he/she can speak more freely in a closed session. After all, these are public hearings and info could be published.

      fingerprinting near FT Meade

Worth a Shot is not "an agent of a law enforcement agency" and cannot sign the back of the FD 258, which is what I needed for a Virginia non-resident CCW permit. And most LE stations won't take your prints anymore. So I am getting a Utah CC permit instead, and Worth a Shot is authorized to do...

New Lawsuit NRA vs Ollie North.

I knew Ollie back in the day and found him to be a straight-up guy. His NSC job required him to do what he did. Ref the NRA, if not them then we need someone else to be on the alert, nationally, for news stories like this...

Gun-Tracking Chips Using GPS in CHina

My guess is we'll see US politicians begin clamoring for this tracking capability soon, first for "assault rifles" then for all guns. Stay alert! As reported in a US defense newsletter last week: Gun-Tracking Chip Created by China Tech Firm to Keep Nation’s Weapons Under Surveillance By...
