      Win 97 Stock

      I need to repair this stock. To pull old oil out, would you soak the entire end in acetone? I'm fine with refinishing afterwards. For the cracks, I understand acra-glass is good but is anything more locally available suitable? A little hardware will be embedded and filled with the epoxy.

      I slid the plastic tray out of the box & it was real obvious that this round had issues. Do I throw it in the pond for safe disposal or is it safe to shoot? I"ve never seen this, so I'm asking. I'm thinking the pressures would get weird real quick.

      I see hybrid holsters come with the choice of cowhide or horsehide for the backing. I've read the horsehide makes for a better ride against the skin, especially in the summer. It's not much of a markup in price to the horsehide but is it marketing or does it make a difference?
