      It is illegal for NFA weapons and devices to be used in self-defense. If you look on the NFA section of the BATFE's website, it says it plain and clear.

      As everyone else has stated, they do allow suppressors. I've brought mine and the they ask to see a copy of my form 4. I always carry a copy with me when going shooting.
