      Sig Sauer P228 repair

My son lives in Baltimore County and needs a spring kit bought and installed for a SIG P228. He came to visit me last week and we did a range visit. He had multiple light strikes with factory ammunition. Any SIG law enforcement P series armorers in the vicinity that can do this for a fair price...

      Finally...the perfect carry weapon

An old term to describe what we now call semiautomatic firearms.

      Finally...the perfect carry weapon

Nice setup. I borrowed a colleague’s P365 right after its introduction and was impressed. Since I have carried Glocks and revolvers for work for forty plus years and have lots of infrastructure to support both, I will stick to them. If that were not the case, I would seriously consider...

      Revolver recommendation

4” S&W M10 or 64 for the win when you figure availability and cost. 3” versions and .357 M13/65 models are usually much more expensive and harder to find.

Sling swivel stud installation on Winchester M70

My son’s work is close to Duffy’s. Thanks!

Sling swivel stud installation on Winchester M70

My son has a Winchester walnut stock M70 that needs sling swivel studs installed. Since he lives in Baltimore, is there anyone local to him that can do a good job? What is the going rate for the labor? He has the swivel studs in hand. Thanks!

      Bolt Action .308 Buying Advice

Don’t rule out the 30-06. In my neck of the woods, there are more choices for rifles than .308, especially used, and during the ammo panic a few years ago, .308 was much more difficult to get. If you handload, the ‘06 can do a huge number of shooting tasks well. The local Wal-Mart yesterday had...

      wildlife expanding

Are there urban archery deer hunting opportunities in MD? My son lives in Rosedale and I kid him about setting up a stand in his townhouse balcony....deer out there regularly.

VA HB67 - Termination of Public Safety Employees

No unions in VA public safety. Right to work state.

      Vehicle Transport Questions

I visited my son in Baltimore a couple of years ago and went shooting at Free State Range east of the city. The employee at the counter was a little distressed that my son had his SIG P228 magazines loaded when he checked our firearms. He said that it was illegal in MD to have loaded mags...

      C&R Snubnose .38 - Which One?

2” M10/64 or M&P for the win. Much easier to shoot well than the five shot Js and cheaper than a vintage Colt D frame. 2” barrel is harder to forcibly take away from the user in a struggle. ‘49 M&P pictured with period Western ammo.

transfering handguns from VA to MD resident

I plan to use Free State Gun Range which is close to him. We have shot there twice since he moved to Baltimore. Will have him ask them when he gets the HQL through them. He got a gift certificate from me to them for his birthday yesterday

transfering handguns from VA to MD resident

I did send a SIG P228 and a couple of hunting guns with him when he moved a few years ago. He shot the 228 better than I did. A couple more of his long guns are here for storage until he gets a bigger place.

transfering handguns from VA to MD resident

My son will be getting his HQL soon. I have one or possibly two handguns I wish to gift him. My question is, can I transport the arms into MD myself, properly secured, to a MD FFL and do the transfer, or do the arms have to be shipped from a VA FFL to a MD FFL? He is getting my old agency...

Really Thinking About a Browning BL-22

How are the irons provided on the BL-22 to adjust? Have been considering a lever .22 for years. A scope on a lever gun is a no go for me.

      What would you carry

S&W 442 pocket carried is my EDC off duty sometimes supplemented with a belt carried Glock or .38 service size revolver.

      CCW Revolver advice?

if you are going to belt carry only, look into a S&W K frame .38 or, if buying new, the Colt Cobra. These fit most hands better than the J frame Smiths and offer a sixth round.
