Taurus is super, so is Rossi. Ruger lcr is the lightest, but that means more recoil an $ , I have the .38 LCR and carry Hornady LITE , others make a softer recoil ammo. If you can rent or borrow any of these go for it. I have found Ruger to be superior to S n W for warranty. Also to reduce... -

Winchester service grade .45 acp
Just bought 500 rounds in 185 grain semi wad cutter, Shot 250 in a match, found it to be clean, accurate and very low recoil. In my G41. Ria and Sig 1911. Shot real well and cycled good. No issues. Less than $15. Box of 50. I am pleased. They shot well in all 3 guns, and really felt like 9mm...
