      I feel your pain. I am retired Military so I don't have to jump through that hoop. Changing your TX CCW permit is easy though. Just inform them of your address change and they will zip one out to you.

      My dad has two closed bolts, he took what he says was the firing pin out of them before he went on a vacation. I guess in case someone broke in and took them they would not fire. Long story short when he came back he forgot where he hid them.
