      G 34

This is wrong. You can run a modified trigger in SSP as long as there are no externally visible modifications. Page 27 of the rulebook states: I think you might have been thinking of GSSF, where you are correct that no non-Glock parts are allowed unless you're running in the Unlimited...

      Fingerprint cards

I believe almost any police station should be able to do this for you. Call first, as always.

      What basic Glock sights?

They're better than the stock sights and they even glow in the dark! Seriously, they're not bad, but I don't like them anywhere near as much for competition shooting as I do the fiber.

      Local places w/ Pelican/SKB cases?

While I respect your desire to buy local, just buy whatever sizes you're interested in on Amazon and take the ones you don't want back to the return center in College Park. Yes, it's a bit of a hike for you, but you can screw around with them in the privacy of your home for as long as you want...

      Brass trade thread.

Anyone have any much-loathed .45 ACP small primer pocket (SPP) you'd like to offload? I have a ton of 9mm, some .40, and an indeterminate quantity of LPP .45 ACP (as well as a few oddball stuff) and am open to negotiations.

Polling Interest in a Weekday Project Appleseed: April 2018 in Bowie, MD

Excellent! Then I would be in. Watch this thread, PM you my contact info, or both to see if it's a go/no-go?

Polling Interest in a Weekday Project Appleseed: April 2018 in Bowie, MD

I would be interested if 1) if you had a loaner available (I've been thinking about acquiring a rifle, but have only shot one a couple times and want a little more experience before pulling the trigger on the purchase) and 2) if we were going to finish up by 1700 or so (I gotta teach that night.)

      Favorite Range?

Indoor: Silver Eagle Group in Ashburn, VA. 50-yard indoor range, allows holster draws and rapid fire, friendly, well-lit and -ventilated, array of rentals, decent pro shop, reasonably priced. Their hours are a little weird, though; it works for me because I go after work, but may not work for...

      New Gun Shop in Germantown/Gaithersburg

Thirding this. I order my bullets online and use filthy range pickup brass, but I would love to be able to get powder/primers locally. Right now I typically go down to Green Top, which is lovely but a bit of a hike. That's pretty much the only thing that would make me check you out in...

      What basic Glock sights?

I like the Taran Tactical set. Black rear, fiber front. Comes with both green and red fiber. Fiber is very thin, which helps if you're going to be running it at 25 yards. Goes in and out of stock on a pretty regular basis, but I have three sets and would have bought a fourth if I didn't have...

      Hank Dietle's

It'll be interesting to see if they try to rebuild. Even if they do, it won't be the same until another 30-year layer of grime accumulates.

A new short classifier for IDPA?

Oh, no, that tended to be my problem--I didn't/don't hose them even though the ranges are relatively short. I don't have good adjustability for closer targets, so it takes me about an hour to aim at an open body at seven yards. Sorry, I wasn't clear. But working on it! They kicked me up...

      2018 IDPA Chesapeake Cup

To be clear, I wasn't bitching. I had a blast, pun intended and weather included. I just really want to know if anyone lost their shoes because my squad was wondering all day!

Seeking ideas for a fun, informal handgun "tournament" with 3 to 6 friends.

You will have trouble using a shot timer and getting accurate results at an indoor, public range. Double that if you're planning to use your phone as an app for it. So I would recommend focusing on accuracy. Unless you were thinking about just using fixed times, and then saying "time's up"...

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Been working through loading a 4x4 (four different bullet weights with four different charges apiece, for ladders) with some SNS coated bullets in 9mm. Looking forward to getting this done so I can play with .40 major!

A new short classifier for IDPA?

Sure, you're going to have edge cases, and this will favor people who are more focused on accuracy and stand-and-shoot, but I don't think there's going to be too many of those people; most of those edge cases just quit because it's too demoralizing. I'm a SS who regularly gets beaten by MMs in...

      2018 IDPA Chesapeake Cup

Did anyone actually lose a shoe in the pits for stages 5-7? I feel like someone had to, given the mud plus movement.

looking for recommendation on open stock kitchen knives

A lot of this depends on what angle you like, what handle style, etc., but I'm a big fan of my Globals. Definitely hold one to see how you like the handle before you get yourself a set, but I can confirm that they hold an edge like nobody's business, and I find them very comfortable to hold.

      TMGN

Speaking as someone who has been at various ranges on "date night" (not for that purpose) and thus had an opportunity to gawk at the natives, I'm shocked it took this long. Because definitely, if you're going to bring your girlfriend to the range, have her wear high-heeled open-toed shoes, hot...
