I settled on a Savage FV-SR for what its worth...
Eventually someone did set him straight about the 20" barrel nonsense, but not all the way straight. It was hard to read. What worried me was wanting to shoot "a bad guy" at 400-600 yards...
There are so many of all of these .22s out there that there are bound to be people who have problems with EVERY model, no matter how well they are made...
That said...Everyone should let me know if they see any Savage FV-SRs floating around out there... :)

Anywhere from $200 - $400 would be fine with me, just looking on a consensus for good .22 rifle in that range. I would also prefer an older used .22 if possible. I just like the older stuff :shrug:
I am looking for some options for a cheap plinker .22 rifle to shoot with friends for fun when I do not feel like burning through .223 or 7.62x39. I have seen some older Stevens .22 semi autos that I really like...but i have not been able to find for sale yet. Opinions on these?
