I appreciate the responses...still don't know what to make of all these laws...smh..Everyone has a valid point. Do I dare call MSP in Pikesville???? Have we gotten to a point in MD where we need to consult an attorney for things like this? Do any of you know an attorney in MD that specializes...
I'm considering buying a SBS and haven't purchased NFA gear in a few years.
Does it matter if the SBS has a side folder stock? I understand they are considered an evil feature for semi-auto shotguns and are banned but isn't a SBS considered a different class of firearm (NFA)?
Some people...
I believe I have my answer now. I don't know if a muzzle brake reduces muzzle flash but it definitely redirects it so its a no go and would be a "copycat" Thanks!
Not sure what they do when they ask to have a rifle shipped to them for inspection and approval to be added to the roster. It was sent to them with the factory muzzle brake so I will ask them.
I happened to be the first POF 308 SBR to come through MSP since they added SBRs to the handgun roster. Since it was not on their list yet my FFL had to ship it to them for inspection/molestation before they would give me the CLEO so they might already have a definitive answer for me.
I was just gonna email a pic of the muzzle brake off of google images and ask them what they thought. Predictably they'll tell me its an evil feature but you never know. I keep all my firearm configurations legal so I'm not worried about anyone knocking on my door.
My overall length is greater than 29inches so no issue there but I have an M203 I wanted to mount on it so if MSP considered my muzzle brake a flash hider I would have an illegal configuration. I'm gonna snap a pic of it and send it to the licensing division to have them verify what they think...
Found this on MSPs website so I think you're right:
With regard to short-barrel rifles included on the Handgun Roster, please note that a semi-automatic rifle with:
1) an overall length of less than 29" and/or
2) any two of the following:
1. a folding stock;
2. a grenade...
Its technically called a "triple port muzzle brake" and it came standard on my POF 308 sbr. I think I'll just call Edwards down at MSP again, hopefully he will know.
I'm running the sear in an LWRC M6A2 10.5" sbr. It was running super fast so I put an H3 buffer in and that seemed to help as I originally thought it was a bolt bounce issue but I'm still getting light primer strikes.
I've been happy with Joe and he's always quick to reply to my questions and concerns. I was hoping to connect with someone locally so I could learn some more first hand about my sear. I'll definitely reach out to Clandestine as well.
Appreciate it guys!
Thanks
Does anyone know someone who is qualified/capable of timing a Registered Drop in Auto Sear in an AR that lives in MD, PA or VA? I actually had a guy out in Ohio work on it (M60Joe) when I originally bought it but I'm still having issues and its a pain in the ass to ship everything to him. I've...
I agree. I never realized how fragile our 2A rights are. The more I've started to get into collecting and shooting the more I realize how easy it could be to make some small mistake/error and thats it. I'm not paranoid but I too like to have all my bases covered.
