Olympic Arms 308-15: Banned or Not?

Barrel Dimensions To clarify my confusion, it's in the definition of HBAR, which is not really defined in the legislation. So MDSP interprets things. The easiest two tests are 1) is it stamped HBAR? or 2) is it spec'd and marketed as HBAR? There are other "tests" but haven't seen any mention of...

Olympic Arms 308-15: Banned or Not?

Interchangeability Yes, you just snap on the upper of choice; there's nothing to do with the lower. The lower has two pivot points...one for the native proprietary.308 upper, the other for AR15 uppers. It also takes handgun-caliber loads. Here's a video from the company owner; explains it all...

Olympic Arms 308-15: Banned or Not?

Olympic Arms has a hybrid multipurpose rifle that ships as a .308, but you can swap out the upper with any AR15 style upper in other calibers. It has a unique lower that accepts its own .308 mag, but also allows you to use standard AR15 mags if you run it with an AR15 upper in .223/5.56 or other...

Bull Barrel: Is it HBAR for MDSP and Compliance?

Can a bull barrel be considered an HBAR for the purposes of AR15 compliance? I'm thinking of buying an upper in a bull barrel configuration, but not sure. It's definitely heavy, but not sure how MDSP interprets it.

      current ATF wait time

Write your Members of Congress and Senators about Wait Times If you're waiting for approval, wouldn't you think 4-6 weeks should be the max time? Well, write to your elected officials if you are waiting, point out the problem, and ask for their help. If enough of us do that, maybe the problem...

Curio and Relic FAQ!! Read me first!!!

Yup, on the 7CR form, you have to initial it. So I guess I'll just do that. Also odd is they ask for your hunting license state/number/etc. And the CLEO copy 2 doesn't let you type in the information. Not a great form.

Curio and Relic FAQ!! Read me first!!!

Applying for C&R: Zoning Question (Baltimore County) One of the certification question requires you to affirm you are OK in regard to zoning laws. Does anyone know how or if this applies to C&R in Baltimore County, specifically Towson area?

Jericho 941 and the Maryland Handgun Roster

Hi all. Just an FYI, I called the Maryland Handgun Roster board at MDSP, and Marlene Jenkins 410-653-4247 was extremely diligent and helpful. She pulled all the previous petitions she had on file. The R-40 designation was what the petitioner asked for, but he also mentioned in the petition that...

Jericho 941 and the Maryland Handgun Roster

Thanks all for the advice and tips! I'm gonna risk it and have them send it from IWI. And order the Magnum mags.

Jericho 941 and the Maryland Handgun Roster

DC--W: I'm looking to get 9mm 941 F model, but the manufacturer its listed on the roster under is IMI The manufacturer is now IWI, which bought IMI. hat's what I'm worried about...not sure how MDSP looks at that. That's what concerns me. I have a pending GunBroker purchase. Maybe I should just...

Jericho 941 and the Maryland Handgun Roster

Yes, I'm looking for the safety on the frame. Which is the "F" model I think. The"R" model (the one that is listed as R40 on the roster) I think refers to the R model. So am I screwed?

Jericho 941 and the Maryland Handgun Roster

?? From what I've read so far, the handgun roster does have it under IWI as it as a Jericho 941, but then includes a model number listed as R-40. The "R" model of the Jericho has a decocker/safety on the slide itself; the F model has a safety not safety/decocker) on the frame. Will this matter...

Jericho 941 and the Maryland Handgun Roster

Need advice on how to get authoritative clarification from MDSP or otherwise...I'm trying to get a Jericho 941 fullsize steel frame, F model, 9mm. These have been imported under a lot of different names. The model I want is from IWI: http://iwi.us/Jericho/Jericho-F-Full-Size-Steel.aspx If...

Utah Concealed Carry Non-Resident Permit and Maryland Confusion

Interesting through Swinokur...I hadn't thought about being legal to possess AND carry on my own property, which is where I would be departing from in the FOPA scenario. Thanks.

Utah Concealed Carry Non-Resident Permit and Maryland Confusion

Confusingly, the federal law allows you to transport from one state where you may possess AND carry to another state where may possess AND carry. Since few of us can carry in Maryland, the use of AND is the nuance. 18-926=A "...shall be entitled to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose...

Utah Concealed Carry Non-Resident Permit and Maryland Confusion

A Utah permit holder can legally carry concealed in DE, VA, and WV through reciprocity. Of course this does not apply within Maryland. I'm more interested in the legality of transporting a handgun (properly locked per federal law) TO a state where it is legal to carry FROM one's residence in...

Pickup Truck and Transport: Soft-Case Range Back, Locking Compartments

I've gotten conflicting opinions. I have a pickup truck, i.e. no trunk. When transporting handguns to/from a range within Maryland, is a canvas range bag legal PROVIDED the firearm(s) are locked in one compartment of the bag AND the ammunition in another separate locked compartment of the same...
