Yep. This. I was celebrating the day Obergefell was decided, but for a different reason. Now that carry outside the home is a recognized right, the 14A + Obergefell precedent makes national reciprocity a slam dunk.
So does that make Thordsen style ARs banned in DE (e.g. Dark Storm’s featureless DS-15)? The language seems to be much broader than the “pistol grip protruding below the action” language the other ban states use. Crazy to think the gun laws in DE nearly as bad as they are in DC now. Hopefully...
Now that the right is recognized, reciprocity is only a matter of time. 14A and Obergefell v. Hodges (gay marriage) provide all the legal the underpinnings to make it happen. I’m sure the lawsuit machine is already spinning up. While you could certainly file a complaint against a state that...
This is correct. Also see VSP’s firearms transaction guide on (scroll down to dual-residency) below. The issue you will come across isn’t the legality, but finding an FFL that is willing to do a transfer to a dual-resident because they might perceive it as being illegal even though it is not...
Exactly. Obergefell v. Hodges (Gay marriage) already set the precedent for national reciprocity on equal protection and due process grounds. It’s not even a 2A question any more if the decision in NYSRP is favorable to us. Once bear is recognized, reciprocity should be a slam dunk if we are to...
All of this x1000.
They purposely make you appear in person as an intentional infringement. They purposely “matured” the registration process so what used to take 20 minutes now takes 60 days as an intentional infringement. If I would hazard a guess, the only reason things are going digital...
Just read the original story... Anyone know why this guy was dumb enough to let the cops in his house? Or did they have a warrant for something unrelated (the tax evasion case?)?
Out of curiosity did the manufacture still put a SN on it, even though it doesn't require a 4473?
If it has a SN, unless you are sure it is a replica of an antique, I'd still register it. And it if doesn't have a SN, you might want to have one engraved, and register it (see my post above).
I think the only exemption from registration would be if the subject muzzleloader was also considered an "antique" by the DC code definition. Which presents a quandary if one wanted a unserialized modern muzzleloader. Not sure if unserialized muzzleloaders are common or not since the fed...
You don't need an NRA class. They accept DD214s and hunter safety courses among others.

AZ is an easy option if you want to carry in DE, and you don’t need a UT specific instructor or a photo (just prints). I’m always baffled why people choose UT over AZ. Only difference with AZ is you loose WA but pick up NM.
As much as I hate “the war on cops,” I wouldn’t shed a single tear for a NJ state trooper that has arrested citizens transporting firearms under FOPA and saying “tell it to the judge,” spending a weekend in lockup in FL for carrying under LEOSA and being forced to use an affirmative defense...
The beauty is that once (if) 2A is recognized as a right outside the home, Obergefell v. Hodges (gay marriage) opens the door for mandatory national reciprocity.
