I carried a duty weapon for many years in another life with an OWB holster at 3 o'clock. But now that is no longer an option for me. I own a gym and go there every day wearing gym shorts or workout pants and a T-shirt. I would have to change clothes to put something on that used a belt. I found...
My point was not make things harder, but rather, to point out just one aspect of the stupidity and lack of thought the legislature put into this statute. Sorry if my writing skills failed to accurately express that thought.
Sorry if this has been addressed already. Have I misread the new MD statute?
Suppose Bob Smith (with a 1911 PMF) and Bill Stevens (with an AR-15 PMF) both live in zip code 21208. They both choose to comply with the new MD law and they both chose serial number 01 for their PMF's. Thus, we end up...
I do not suggest anyone try this, just was wondering how many ways these new rules do nothing to stop criminals.
Suppose someone took one of the 20 AR's he owned to be engraved by an FFL per the new MD rules. Then he just copies that number onto all his other AR's. So now, for the price of one...
Suppose that last month you built an AR pistol from a just purchased 80% lower and with a brace it is >29". And then to satisfy Crazy Joe, you submit federal paperwork to make it a legal SBR.
Have you now turned your legal pistol into an illegal (in MD) rifle because it is not a "heavy"...
It appears Crazy Uncle Joe is going to make us register AR pistols that have a stabilizing brace as a SBR.
Are SBR's legal in MD? I'm pretty much up to speed on MD's stupid "so-called assault weapons" laws, but clueless about SBR's in MD...never had one. TIA.
I may be totally wrong, but I think you are correct ONLY if the barrel is .223 /5.56. If any other caliper there is no requirement for a "heavy" barrel. The People's Republic of Marylandistan makes this so stupidity confusing.
I understand what you are saying, but why can one company sell the exact same products, shipped to you in one single box, and they (Glock Store for example) are not raided by the ATF? It is not logical.
Are you saying a company that sells 80% frames/lowers cannot also sell the other parts to...
I don't mean this to sound like a jerk, but how can "marketing" the exact same product as the Glock Store (and many others) sell, get you raided by the ATF? In other words, the product is legal, but the words they used to sell the product are not?
You can go the Glock Store website right now and they have the SS80 (Glock43) 80% frame for sale, and on the same webpage they sell the upper/lower parts kits, slides, etc. If you buy everything you need to finish the gun it will be placed in the SAME BOX and shipped to you. What is the frickin...
Unfortunately it may not last long. If President Biden serves two years and one day and then falls over dead (or the Dems use the 25th Amendment) President Harris will finish that term. Then she can run for another term in 2024, and ANOTHER term in 2028. During her almost TEN years as President...
I've built a good number of both Glocks and 1911's. Once you have all the parts you can complete a nice 80% Glock in an hour. To build an 80% 1911, that works 100% of the time, takes me weeks. This is because you have to hand fit (ie file) every part to fit the gun right, and then spend lots of...
I agree there is no money saved building an 80% gun. But, at least for me, it's worth it just for the self satisfaction that I made this weapon with my own hands. It's a hobby like building model planes or boats.
I have often shipped my finished 80% lowers/frames/receivers to be blued...
I have spent half the day (unsuccessfully) searching the web for the answer to: does any "Official" ATF regulation/letter/notification explicitly exempt serial numbers for firearms made from 80% lowers/frames/receivers?
https://regulations.atf.gov/478-92/2019-24301#478-92 requires them if you...
If, for whatever reason, you choose to ship them, I have found this website to be the easiest and cheapest way to ship guns.
https://www.shipmygun.com/go/
I have no affiliation with them, just trying to share info.
