I can't comment on "the one" but I do have a G5 that has been flogged for years on select fire guns, SBRs, etc. The G5 seems to share the same mount type at least with "the one."
- The mounting system will wobble slightly and I have POI shift on all of my guns, but the shift is repeatable. I...
Great deal. Don't hesitate to deal with John
He was firm on his price, but I had no issue since it was a fair price to start, which seems to be a rarity these days. Transaction was quick and easy and everything was exactly as he said it was.
Model 94 impulse buy. I think I had just watched "longmire" earlier that day. Put a Williams 5D on it and it groups very well for a Model 94. Not sure what I am going to do with it otherwise.
The cadet comes in at 2.15", but it is not going to do you much good if you need a lock.
Spyderco dragonfly is a good knife at under 2.5" with a lock and came come in ZDP-189, which will outcut just about anything. Can be "waved" with a zip tie or the thumb hole milled out to a wave.
2.5"...
Last time I was there was 2009. Picked up a $495 1943 field grade SA GI stock and TE/SE both less than 1. I went through about 50-60 field grades on the rack to find it. Most were sewer pipe bores. It was enough to convince me that mail ordering an FG M1 was a bad idea.
As others have said...
100%. I load large primer because I have more of it. If I could trade all of my large primer for small primer, I would do it. No observed difference other than primer size.
What is your budget? There are many manufacturers out there.
Best direct impinged gas uppers, period- KAC (LaRue, PRI, JP, HCS for precision or special purpose uppers). DD is pretty good, but does not seem to give you anything over the next rung down for a similar cost.
Best top end...
Glad to see you did what works for you. A Gen 3 glock is a tool and commodity, not a collector's item. Comparing the purchase cost of the pistol and cost of the ammunition it will shoot over it's lifetime, it is cheap.
Glock frames are also about as cheap as it gets to replace. IIRC they are...
+1
I use my 930 for 3 gun and have never actually cleaned it with about 800 rounds. All of the shot has been federal with a few Winchester slugs mixed in. I keep it wet...
D2 will almost act like stainless unless it stays wet, cuts corrosive stuff like fruit or meat, or is sweated on. It will develop stains or pit slightly, but not rust like the carbon steels. My EDC for several years has been a D2 Benchmade 710 or custom 550.
My O-1 blades on the other hand...
If you can get it cheap, go for it. As long as you shim or peel washer to time the muzzle device, you can use cheap a2 mounts. Just buy shims- peel washers are irritating.
I have a G5, which uses the same baffle stack as the Halo. It is as quiet as any other similar length can on the market...
Final machining and annodizing quality seems to be the biggest difference. Some have better beveling on the magwell or deeper marking, etc., than others.
The only problems I have had with parts fitting were $35 frontier arms polymer lowers.
BCM strikes just about the best balance between cost and quality. I just wish they would not laser etch their logo all over everything.
I don't think you gain much stepping up to the DD price range for a DI gun unless you go straight to Knight's for a couple hundred more. Better value at the...
I started out buying just about everything during the early 2000s C&R bonanza, and then sold just about everything except U.S. and OPFOR World War II/Korea.
