      Just walk, it's not a major. As noted previously this match is a great media event and it let's new people see what 3-Gun is all about. Plus free ammo!!! If you end up having fun comeback the following weekend for the regular PTNC 3-Gun match.

      Armscor is the largest producer of 1911's; not sure where you came up with kimber. Also, is the OP is looking at 1500-2K he could probably find an STI of some variety.

      I just noticed you're in essex; check out York, PA, they run USPSA, SC, and 3-gun up there. Also, walnut ridge (summit point,WV) is about the same distance for you as thurmont. Finally, I definitely agree with jimbobborg about PTNC; its worth the drive, albeit it's probably about 2-2.25 hrs away...

      Hey good luck out there. Assuming you're running 8rnd mags try to get 6 (you can always borrow a few); ask questions; and just take your time.

      Best Carbine?

      +1 on the hi-point. They're cheap and a ton of fun. I would stick with factory mags as most of the aftermarket mags will hold "but not feed" ammo.
