Maryland in top 100 armed counties twice

Which seems to hint that they either did a survey (and people didn't answer), or they looked at secondary stats like "gun sales" or something. People that haven't purchased firearms in a while or carry firearms passed down to them wouldn't register.

      Phone Scam

Next time someone gets this call, try and get a cop to hang out at the local Food Lion/Safeway. My guess is that the plan is to jump the victim when they get/have the money packs. It's a way to insure that the victim has $3k on them. Probably not aiming to hit the house since the payment...

      Dear Iowa and New Hampshire...

Yeah - support him. He doesn't stand a chance outside of solid blue states, so he would be the weakest candidate to run.

POLL: Has a doctor ever asked you about guns?

I've never been asked by my doc or our pediatrician. May be because, being middle class in MoCo, they assumed we are liberal progressives who abhor guns.

Gresham on the mark... Why appearance matters

Think about the early years of the civil rights movement. The people in those marches were dressed like normal, respectable people. In the north, and in suburban homes, they appeared on their TV's as honest and non-threatening - just like them, which they were. Later, 60's anti-war protests...

U.N. job posting for "Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Officer" in NY

The UN is for the elite of foreign countries to live in NYC: eat at fancy restaurants, attend shows, shop, etc. All on their country's dime. Of course the job is located at the HQ. It probably just a few meetings, a teleconf with some lower level guys who are actually getting shot at, then...

FL legislature passes warning shot law

More likely: "Parents sue after would-be vigilante fires warning shot that hit child bystander blocks away." Stray rounds isn't a good idea usually - especially in a stressful situation.

      Presbytyranny ...

Like a lot of protestant churches in the US, they've been leaning to the Progressive side to the point of flat out advocating (which bring them into question of church vs. political group). There is a big differences in Presbyterian churches, but PCUSA is one of the largest. There are a few...

NGVAC (Who?) Calls for Hallmark Cards Boycott

You must denounce all heresy and proclaim your purity of thought! Failure to do so is heresy and heresy must be punished.

Moms Demand Make Target the next "Target"

Scaring urban/suburban white women* works. They have money (or at least control the purse strings), and often other members of the family go along just to keep the peace. *Moms Demand Action is whiter than a Howard Dean Meetup and look at their targets: Target, Chipotle, etc. These are...

      Bullets and Rifles

38mm roughly equal to 1.49" Sounds like a really impressive handgun. :D Hate to think of the recoil though. If that existed, I'd recommend it be used in a Dirty Harry remake.

DOJ Pressuring Banks to Refuse Service to Gun Stores

It has been in some other outlets: UK's Daily Mail and Breitbart.com. All are labeled "right leaning" but I think some other news outlets have covered it too, but from the porn angle (porn actresses are losing their accounts too). It's really all about regulation as a cudgel: Feds are just...

Owe'Malley Gets Hildabeast's Permission To Run

Couple of theories: 1. she doesn't need a target - but she knows the press does. O'Malley is fairly unknown outside of MD, so Hillary knows any skeletons in his closet will take up numerous news cycles and won't be focused on her. 2. it's a race for VP - Watch all the other candidates...

      Operation Dino

Depends on your local area too. If you live in a solid Dem area, vote for the best Dem (option 1) since the primary is basically the general election. If it's a toss up (and state wide & Federal), option 1 might work.

      Hippies take up Hunting

So I guess you need to take out the whole group, just to put them out of their grief? :D

Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke: Gun Demographics, slavery, Chicago Police Chief

He's certainly more pro-2A than the Milwaukee police chief who (in)famously declared if one of his officer's saw a firearm, their first reaction should be to "put them on the ground" before determining if the firearm was legally carried.

New Tax system would fix most of our problems

Another proposal for tax reform (not mine, but forget who): Move tax payment day from April 15th to the day to the monday before election day. Kind of messes with accounting (since the day moves around to different weeks), but gets the point across and ties both parts of civic responsibility...

What can we learn from the Bundy ranch situation?

One thing that is apparent is we are living in a period of middle class anarchy. Ranchers aren't the usual underclass revolutionaries, but here they are threatening government agents and winning (well, for now). These are responsible adults that wouldn't don black masks and throw rocks through...

Harvey Weinstein & Meryl Streep anti gun movie

Didn't they say this with every anti-Bush, anti-Iraq war movie put out? Just about all of them tanked if I recall.

      Best burgers in the area

They opened up a Smash Burger in Germantown too - in the same shopping center as the new Wegmans (so watch out for hordes of Wegman's crazed yuppies). Plus a Krazeburger nearby. Apparently it is a Korean influenced (owned?) chain so they have bulgogi burgers.
