Mossberg loc-box is nice, but wish they had a combo one...
Dicks had 00 buckshot in stock when I got. The. Shotgun, so got two boxes of it...no birdshot for me...
I hadn't thought of the touch padlock...nice idea for night, low or no visibility.
Arc am, that is a leading contender. Thinking in the closet, behind hanging shirts maybe...another one may be this, Stack-On IWC-55. No combo, but well hidden, discreet...and get a smaller safe for the handgun...plenty to choose rom there...
CLP ,that's another thread entirely. Everyone seems to say birdshot is no good, buckshot is best, but of course has a higher chance of going through walls to another room. Listening for advice on that too.
Yeah, I was thinking small keypad safe on top of my dresser or in the bottom drawer of the bedside table....it is the shotgun I am trying to figure out now. I saw a youtube video of a guy who had his under the bed with a hinged lock over the trigger, breach area with a key code that flipped it...
All, I am awaiting my first handgun (Ruger SR9), paperwork put in on 3/22, and just bought a Mossberg Maverick 88 (18.5"). My intent is for these to be home protection, SHTF, weapons. They are also both my first to own, though I have some familiarity with shotguns already, and plan on going...
Thanks for the advice all. Gonna pick up my own now. Went in , tried a bunch of 9mms. Really liked the Ruger SR9 and the Springfield XD9 the best. Price and safety features, not to mention actual availability gave the Ruger the edge. Now, 45 day wait...bah. Place was crowded. Thanks to Chris...
I am planning on going to On Target in Severn tomorrow for the first time to rent and try some handguns out to help decide on a first ever purchase. Do I need to bring my own eye and ear protection or will they be able to provide that since I am renting and looking to buy?
Seems simple, but...
Thanks all. Let me clarify. I would be a n00b to owning, but have handled guns in the past...not a ton, but enough that I am quite familiar with the difference between what firing a .410 versus a 20 gauge versus a 12 gauge does, or the difference between firing a .22 LR versus an 8mm Mauser...
Hi all, I am here to learn more than anything else. I don't own any firearms, it am looking to buy at least a shotgun and handgun soon. The shotgun, I am fairly certain I know what I want...the handgun, no idea. Please offer any advice you may have.
I am mainly interested for home...
