      Para Ordnance P14 upgrade suggestions

This anecdote is ~20 years old, but my P14-45 needed to have the feed ramp polished before it would feed reliably. Hammer and trigger are good upgrades, as others have mentioned.

2022 48th Annual East Coast Military Vehicle Rally

Contemplating bringing my 5yo out to this. Anyone know if this is more of a “climb in old jeeps” or “stand behind the velvet rope” kind of show? He loved the Tank Farm open house when we last went, being able to sit inside the vehicles was the high point. Thanks, -Stephen

      Loading Mossberg 500 tube

How old is the gun, how many rounds has it been through? First thing I’d look at is the follower, maybe it’s worn or tilting for some reason. Then look for debris or burrs in the magazine tube. I shot skeet for years with a 500 that was well worn when I bought it, never had a loading or feed...

      Crazy 1911 rifle!

"Eligible to purchase a rifle but not a handgun? Capable of using basic hand tools but not capable of finishing a P80? Have we got a deal for you!" Also, looks like 45 ACP velocity plateaus around 9-10" of barrel length. http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/45auto.html Still better than nothing...

      Best place to fondle ACOG?

Two thoughts: 1) Trijicon's dealer locator shows some "preferred dealers" in the area. Not sure if any are IPs so I'll just point to their search: https://www.trijicon.com/dealer-locator/ Those would be the first places I'd call. 2) The other thought is to head to one of the larger...

Best multi-caliber AR Red Dot recommendation?

They make scopes with two separate adjustable sets of crosshairs; the intent is so you can do a one-shot zero, but you could use it instead to keep two separate zeros https://shepherdscopes.com/shepherd-one-shot-zero/ I have no experience with the above, my impression was that it was something...

      Arsenal SAS M7 underfolder

Looks like a few have changed hands on Gunbroker within the last month, transaction price seems to be $1800-$2000 depending on condition and accessories. There are a few more listed for $2200+ with no bids, so I wouldn't expect more than that. Hope this helps, -Stephen M

      Assistance with current value

Looking at completed items (read:sold) on Gunbroker within the last 30 days, I see: Type 56 AK-47: $1700-2500, depending on condition and accessories Norinco SKS: $600-1000 Colt pre-ban HBAR: $1800-2400 As a Maryland resident, if you sell the first two you shouldn't plan on ever being able to...

      What's my Tavor worth

Out of curiosity I did a search on Gunbroker for completed items (things that have actually sold, not just listed). A few dozen 5.56 TAVOR SARs have changed hands recently, with prices ranging from $1400-$1800. The more recent auctions were trending toward the higher end of that scale. If it...

MOCO Board of Elections Mail in Ballot

For local school boards, I've found the League of Women Voters guides to be useful. The send all candidates the same list of questions and publish their responses, verbatim, all in one place. I honestly find it more useful than candidate's websites or a debate...

      Over under combo

Another option is to get a standard OU shotgun, and use one of those chamber inserts to convert one barrel to 22 or whatever caliber you want. Although I suspect the accuracy of those might insufficient for hunting.

      Israel's Tavor

A Tavor purchased after 2013 must meet the minimum length requirements. Several IPs have sold MD-compliant Tavors with a pinned flash hider.

      Where to donate taxidermy/mounts/trophies?

A sincere thanks for all the suggestions. I certainly didn't expect so much personal interest in the items, but it's appreciated. I think I've finally caught up with the private messages. I should have clarified that the relative's goal was to donate as much as possible locally (in Texas)...

      Where to donate taxidermy/mounts/trophies?

A relative is downsizing after a life of hunting, and even after distributing things among family, they still have a full house of stuff to get rid of. Dozens of antlers and skulls (deer, elk, moose, and caribou); full body mounts of a cougar, a brown bear, coyote, and sable; and assorted...

      Hopkins kids getting more protection

Makes perfect sense, and isn't too surprising. College kids tend to be wealthier than the average resident of city where their urban university is located, and are generally accustomed to a higher level of personal safety. They are often from out-of-state, though, and don't register to...

      Heads up- House Bill 991

On 1), the ex post facto prohibition only applies if they tried to charge you with illegal possession after the law passed on the basis of having possessed magazines BEFORE the law passed. But they can indeed charge you with illegal possession if the law passes and you continue to possess the...

Looking for DA 44mag revolver, stainless, ~6 inch barrel

Looking for a DA 44mag revolver in stainless with a 4-6 inch barrel, preferably used, well worn but functional is OK. Biased towards a Ruger SRH, S&W 629, or any Dan Wesson. IP located in MoCo or HoCo preferred. Thanks!

Smallest Maryland (non resident) legal trunk AR based gun?

Folding stock is OK as long as it doesn't have a second forbidden feature (flash hider or grenade launcher). The KelTec SU-16 rifles seem interesting and are fairly compact when folded. I have no personal experience with them though, and reviews seem mixed, so maybe not the best option.

      Bullpup or Folding Stock Rifles

VZ58/VZ2008 is MD ok and was available for under $600 a few years ago. Looks like prices have crept up but can still be found for under a grand. It's light and incredibly compact with the folding stock.

      Browning Auto 5

Two quick thoughts: 1) If you're shooting clays, don't get the magnum version. Even with the rings set for light loads it won't necessarily cycle target loads. Results seem mixed on this, YMMV and all that. 2) Replacement barrels are expensive, and only the newer models have...
