I’ll definitely have to take a look at the wood a bit better. I really appreciate the help. I guess I can still have fantasies about it being carried on Guadalcanal haha.
Hi all,
Picked this up recently and being that a lot of us are stuck at home I thought it would be cool to share some pics and possibly learn from each other about these old war horses. I’m pretty novice when it comes to these. I was under the impression that it was “WWI” with the 1918 barrel...
From what I understand, due to the fact that a stripped lower is a regulated firearm, one would have to do a transfer at an FFL. The lower being part of a 77R is registered to the original purchaser. Just because it’s built into a rifle doesn’t make it a cash and carry rifle in the situation...
That is an awesome piece! Love the bringback stuff. Especially Vietnam bringbacks.
I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, but did you plan on holding onto it or potentially selling it?
Picked this up not too long ago. Figured you all might appreciate it as much as I do.
Would love to see other examples you all may have. This is the best US bayonet I’ve personally had in my possession. Now I just need to get something to put it on.
Long guns don’t need to be registered with MSP so don’t worry about that. The CMP is actually able to ship right to your door. I’m in AA County too. Glad to see another local Garand enthusiast!
ComBloc is correct. Piston driven upper ARs are not required to have HBARs as they are not “parts interchangeable” with an AR15. Wolf actually makes a really cool T91 upper that is piston driven.
It’s a German SA (Stürm Abteilung) dagger. Pictures of the maker mark and the scabbard would help with value. The SA daggers are fairly common in the militaria world, but a rare maker could constitute a higher price.
I’d recommend looking at the “Sold” listings on SummerVacation Militaria...
I’d have to imagine that most people want to grab the “home defense” kind of guns. I saw it myself when people and friends of mine were searching high and low for an AR-15 but couldn’t be bothered to look at a $400 SKS (with ammo) because it looked old.
More Milsurps for us Milsurp guys I...
I definitely see your issue here. I’m more of a collector than a shooter (especially due to the distance to a decent range and the price of ammo right now)
For instance, I’d rather buy a WWII Japanese type 14 to have in the collection than a Glock 19 simply due to the fact that the Type14 is...
Honestly, if you have the ammo I’d recommend getting a sub2k. I had one for a while but was unprepared for the ammo shortage of 9mm so I sold the rifle to invest in collectible milsurps.
It was fun, reliable, technologically intriguing and the ability to fold whilst still being a cash and...
