Nope. If you're not a member, you just pay for the time. Members get priority and can reserve lanes, walk-ins can wait sometimes. I always go evenings during the week after work, never even half full. Weekends, it's swamped.
One thing I'd be interested in is long-range 2-way radios. It seems like having 1 at home, 1 in the car, 1 at my office, and 1 at my wife's work could be useful in an emergency situation when the phone lines are down. Anybody know much about these? What kind of range could we expect in the DC...
DTSS here. It's pretty nice, for city life. OK, so it sucks. Being able to walk to Whole Foods is a novelty I can live without if I can have clean air in my lungs again. 2 more years, and I'm heading back south to Louisiana.
I started off with an air rifle around age 5. By age 7, I was shooting a .22LR. Took my first deer with a 12ga slug at 8 years old. It kicked the crap out of me, but there it is. There's no way I could have fired a followup shot, though, so in retrospect I was probably too young. I was...
I'll just leave this here: There is no official language in the US. There have been attempts to make English the official language, but it hasn't happened. Maryland has also never declared an official language. Given those things, it makes sense to have some accommodations for the 2nd most...
I bought a S&W Shield in 9mm in anticipation for the change, but I hate it so I plan on selling it soon. It's too thin for my big meat-mitts, so my hand wraps around too much throwing off my aim. I'm thinking I'll just stick with full size, which is what I carry out of state.
It's a "fun" round for me. I like .40S&W for defense because it's easier to control in a pinch, improving my shot placement. For hunting I almost always use a rifle, most of which decimate the 10mm. If I want to hunt with a handgun, I have an 8" S&W Model 29 (.44 Magnum, Dirty Harry style).
I test drove the P238 last night, and was surprised at how nice it was. If you want 9mm, the S&W Shield is the new popular kid on the block if you can find one.
Revolver in .38 Special or similar. If racking a slide is an issue, remove the issue. This is what my mother carries, and she's perfectly comfortable with it.
Other options include any of the .380 pistols out there. The Sig P238 is nice. If you are set on .22LR, the Ruger SR22 is my favorite.
