      It just hit me...If we had common sense voting laws we wouldn't be in this mess.

      No way for the "pay a fee to vote" angle. That would violate the 24th amendment (LINK). I agree wholeheartedly however that a picture ID should be MANDATORY, be a verified tax payer/land owner, or an other than dishonorably discharged veteran be able to vote.
