I stopped by loch raven for an hour on my way home tonight. It's been pretty slow there this year for me. I managed to catch the first fish on my new rod and the only one for the night. It was a decent pickerel.

Today was opening day for the loch raven fishing center. I saw three boats on the water when I crossed the Dulaney Valley road bridge at 7:30 this morning. Around noon, I crossed it again, and there was no one on the water.
I think with all of the rain along with cooler weather fishing is...
My brother and I went to the eastern shore today and fished the choptank. I was using a beetle spin and got a 10" white perch. We both had a few more strikes, but this was the only fish landed.

Thanks. I rent boats sometimes, but mostly fish from the bank like today as it's on my way home from work. I don't think the fishing center opens until early April to rent boats.

I just got back from loch raven for the first time out this year. I got one largemouth after being there for about 3 minutes. Only fish of the day, but it was nice to get out.

It was a nice day yesterday, wind and temp wise for December. Visibility was absolutely terrible with the fog at points throughout the day. We managed to catch one scoolie 20.5". He was a football and fought like he was bigger than he was.
There was some crazy sob riding a jetski.

We went vertical jigging light tackle for rock today on the choptank. It's the first time we've tried it. We got into some schoolies, and I ended up with 7 in about two hours. A 7' medium rod with a 2500 spinning reel is a blast.

We took the boat out on the choptank today. I managed to land two rocks, probably about 17" and 19". It was a beautiful day to be on the water.

Glad to see everyone catching fish. I went out this morning with my family. I helped my 6 year old cousin catch his first fish. I caught some as well

We went out to a private pond this morning. This was the biggest I caught 2lb 14oz. I caught 15 largemouth, and my brother got 10. The senko definitely holds up better on the crossover rings than anything else I've tried rigged wacky.

I am a big fan of the vmc crossover rings paired with a 1/0 weedless neko hook and a 5" senko rigged weightless wacky. It's my first time using that combo, and I landed 14 largemouth in two hours. I thought it was going to be a good day when I caught a fish on the first cast before the senko hit...
Went out on the choptank with my brother today. Caught two schoolies. My brother got one. I also broke the tip off of my bull bay tac x.

you are right. I was trying to keep you out of trouble with the kill or keep comment above. I have heard of people getting cars impounded for keeping fish that weren't dead.

This is 100% incorrect. You must release them right where they are caught. If you plan to keep them, you must kill them immediately before leaving that spot.
