Got to see a bunch of fun stuff I couldn't afford. Was nice to see a .410 SMLE conversion in real life. Saw a few Japanese Type 2s and 44s. Saw a ton of Winchester 1894 SRCs. Saw a Japanese gun cane. An exquisite M1D. A couple trench guns. And where else do you see a $70,000 wooden bear...
Wow. Just got an e-mail that the IHC rifles are already sold out and they won't be accepting any more mail orders for IHC rifles until the next batch, which isn't due to be ready until November. So it sounds like paying the extra shipping might pay off for everyone who did!
You guys better get those forms together pronto because the CMP Sales e-mail I just got says the first batch of IHCs is available now. They're service grades: $975 for ones with LMR barrels, $925 for ones with non-LMR barrels. Limit one per customer. Good luck, guys!
I'm going to try to convince my wife that my 7-month-old has started talking and told me that I really need to finally get an M44. Think she'll go for it? :P
I'm still waiting on my SG Springfield I ordered just before Thanksgiving. Several people have been getting e-mails like the one the OP got, but I haven't gotten one yet. If I do, I'm not sure what I'll do either. I waited until Springfields were available because I want a WWII receiver and it'd...
Thanks for sharing the pics! I was so sad that they were already sold out by the time I got to read the e-mail from AIM. Grenade launcher Enfields are just so cool looking. I'll have to keep my eye out to see if they get any more.
Argh. This is so tempting. I've wanted one for so long. But I just filled out the CMP paperwork to get an M1. I don't think my wife will allow this. And she seems to notice guns showing up at the door. Hrmmm... how to make this happen...
Good point. But my wife likes to insist that she can still do everything the same way, even with a baby in her. Maybe walking around a museum will convince her otherwise. :D
My wife and I will be headed up to Massachusetts next week to spend some time with family before our baby is born. She has agreed to go to the Springfield Armory Museum with me while we're up there. So I'm just wondering... how long does it take to go through the whole thing? I know it all...
My wife is pregnant with our first child, who is due to greet the world in mid-September. We don't know the sex of the baby yet, so I picked a gender-neutral color. But here's the baby's first piece of clothing.
I'm right there with you, little one. I can't wait to shoot one either.
More pictures! Still think I got a great deal for $200 shipped! Now I just need to get the parts and some ammo. Parts will be easy. Ammo is proving to be difficult to find.
Finally got some pictures! It wasn't as bad taking it apart as I thought. I was worried because the lower tang is attached strangely, so I can't even get the tang and trigger guard out. But I still was able to get everything else out. I can now see where I'll insert the screw for the ejector...
