I've seen this stuff referenced a lot, but where do you buy it? I did a quick search online and just went to two Walmarts and a Lowes and came up empty. I'm beginning to think this stuff is sort of like The Holy Grail. Often spoken of, but never actually seen!
I've started to look at...
I'm recently getting back into reloading after a bit of a hiatus. I still have my Dillon 550B (from back in the 1990's) and placed an order for a bunch of gauges (223 and 308), powder scale, replacement parts kit for the 550, and a caliber conversion kit for 9mm. The order went through and I got...
Hello Everyone
I was going to post this over in the "Rifles" forum, but I figured I'd get get better results with this group. I've been trying to figure out the production run and ultimate destination of my Remington M1903A3.
Some background: I bought this rifle going on 20 years ago...
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum but not MDS... I'm slowly getting back into reloading and wanted an opinion on case trimmers. I sold off most of my rifle case prep tools years ago and I've just been reloading pistol calibers on a Dillon 550B. I used to reload .223 for an AR on the Dillon...
Hello Everyone... first off, I am NOT a shotgun guy. Thirty+ years of shooting rifles has killed any hope of me ever being competitive. However, from spitting across the room distances and home defense, I can definitely see the utility in having one. My question to this group:
Are these legal...
Hey everyone... I've been looking at 10/22s again and want a heavy barreled target version. Preferably with a threaded barrel. Gunbroker has used ones in the $450-500 range, but I was considering just buying a stock 10/22 from WM ($210+tax) and then doing a Butler Creek or similar heavy barrel...
Hey everyone. I have a Remington 700 HV short action in .308 win that I've turned into a single shot prone rifle. It has a Timney trigger in it now (without safety lever or bolt release). This trigger was/is amazingly light, but also had a propensity for dropping the hammer when no round is in...
Hello Everyone. I just bought a used, but not abused, Spyderco Delica 4. I was checking the lockup and general functionality of the knife and all seems good. However, when I was checking the screw tension on the blade, I noticed it was a bit loose. So, I tightened it... to the point where the...
Hey everyone. Over the past few months I've been watching ebay and comparing what sells, prices, and what the fakes look like. Part of my comparisons have involved The Knife Center and Amazon. I did buy a Benchmade Griptillian from Amazon and it is a real one, but recently I've gotten more into...
I've used a wet stone for what seems like forever, but I'm looking at a myriad of tools and new products for doing this task. Are any of these better than using a stone? Thanks!
Hey everyone... I'd like the groups thoughts on these two knives, particularly if you've owned either or both. I've never owned a Benchmade but got to handle a few at the HoCo Gun Show. I recently purchased a Spyderco Tenacious and like the singlehanded operation of the blade... it's addictive...
Is there a practical, real world difference between the two? From what I've read, it looks like S30v should hold an edge a bit better and be a more corrosion resistant, but 154cm should be a bit easier to sharpen... thoughts?
Hello everyone... I was at the HoCo Gun Show today and there were two vendors with Benchmade knives. At one table, the knives' blade lock release mechanism made the blade slack and freely move. At the other table the knives release mechanism unlocked the blade, but it did not move freely... one...
I'm looking at the Kershaw Blur, and the Buck Vantage Pro at this price point. Are there others to consider? It looks like if I go a little above this price point,. .. Spyderco Tenacious or Zero Tolerance... thoughts?
Thanks in advance...
Just for grins and giggles I stopped at WM on Ridge Rd in Ellicott City and looked at knives. The Camillus piece was not stocked properly so I asked the price... $7... for an AUS-8 blade and G10 handles, I think it's a deal. I'm not certain if there are any more...
Hello everyone. I'm starting this discussion here because of a different thread where people were talking about alternatives to firearms for home defense. One suggestion was actually a sword... referencing the JHU student that used a katana to thwart a robbery. The student was not charged even...
Hey everyone, I was recently at the AGC range in Marriottsville trying to sight in a new build with Bushnell TRS25 red dot optic. I don't have a bore sighting tool, so I put the optic on and hoped for the best with 55 gr Federal. The rifle: YHM lower with CMMG parts kit, YHM flattop upper...
