      Squirrels, where?

As if you ever see a DNR officer on public land anyhow. All the times I've seen people using buckshot for deer in Frederick county in Cherrington or Monocacy.

      Squirrels, where?

Do you know why you see squirrels when your deer hunting? Because your flat on your ass, still, and your in there early at dawn.

      Public land rant

It's just the nature of the beast. I imagine 2 out of every 5 times I go hunting on public land I get irritated; but I've also surely irritated other people as well. Better hunting public land than not hunting at all.

Truck for getting out of town...

Everyone would throw their deer in the back of your truck.

      Is Hogan our friend?

For the record, I'd be quite happy if he lessened the tax burdens on the citizens of MD, then I could spend my money on private companies that will use their funds a little wiser than the state could ever do.

      Is Hogan our friend?

Easy there champ. Just asking a question.

      Is Hogan our friend?

From what I have read about him he is good economically, strong business background, etc. How is he going to affect our natural resources? Is he a friend of the hunter, fishermen, birdwatcher, shoreman, trapper? Or is this more into the realm of what his appointees can and cant do? I dont...

      Late season waterfowl reports

What'd you do with the Merganser? Are they edible? I see a lot on the Monocacy and Potomac, but never shoot them because I hear they're godawful.

Tires hung on trees public hunting area

Those fake dreys fall out of trees all the time, theyre like wood duck boxes, a solution looking for a problem. Maybe useful in new growth forests without a lot of snags or holes, but ive never seen one in use by a squirrel. Red tail and cooper hawks getting hit by cars or zapping themselves...

      C&O Canal Entrance Fee Proposal

How long ago was that lone ranger? If it were to be a coupon or decal you put on your car and support the parks that way for an annual fee i would be for it, but if its the honor system bs id rather it just not be erected at all. I consider it to just be an inconvenience. Many people in...

      C&O Canal Entrance Fee Proposal

Im definitely going to the meeting in brunswick to tell them my views. Sorta like when Ehrlich tried to sell off the public lands. Pretty soon only the rich and affluent will be able to enjoy the wilderness thats left after its subdivided.

      C&O Canal Entrance Fee Proposal

********. Heres a novel idea, increase the taxes on River Riders and stop using our state helicopters to rescue their drunk asses.

      learning how to hunt

Id recommend a guthook. Try to find someone who hunts or butchers small game like squirrels or rabbits, the practice is good as far as processing. More important is learning how to sit still, and understanding sign and scent management so you can get the deer close enough, then marksmanship...
