I noticed that the corrections he said he was making were not the corrections he wound up writing on the target. If he had made the corrections he said on the first group, he wouldn't have overcorrected. I assume it was for instructional purposes...
Funny, I was just talking to my son about this. Many people have said that "surprise" thing to me, including my drill sergeants many years ago. I never paid any attention to it, I was a very prolific rifle shooter long before I became a soldier, and a strong competitor when I was in. I always...
PPU 69gr Match performs really well and is affordable. M193 runs fine in my 1-7 carbines too, just have to be aware of the change in POI and the wind blows them around. I find LC M855 to be very inconsistent.
I'll have to check out the Black Hills loads.
S&W 469, a complete piece of junk, as I learned most S&W automatics of that era (mid-late 80's) were. Traded it for an old Toyota P/U, definitely got the best end of the deal.
On the other hand, the 6" S&W 586 I got back then is a thing of beauty. Don't really understand how the same company...
"The Barrel extension can cause ammo to not feed. A cratex bit on a dremel works great to fix that."
Exactly this. If the points and edges on the back side (the side facing you) of the locking lugs at the top of the feed ramps are very sharp, they can gouge and snag the round on the way into...
On one of my uppers I had a problem where certain rounds (77gr GMM) wouldn't feed reliably. It turned out that the edges of the lugs in the barrel extension were so sharp that they would snag the round on the way in the chamber. The round would literally be wedged between two lugs at the top of...

I figured from the peening that your cylinder must be taking a beating too. I don't know about your specific model of revolver, but in my experience that meant something else was wrong. As Chad says, it's out of time and the hammer is dropping when the cylinder isn't locked up. Better have...
I have Mec-Gars for my Hi-Powers, and of course they are the OEM for a couple other pistols, never any issues. They were a huge improvement for the Witness when Tanfoglio switched to them. I have Pro-Mags for a Walther P-5, very unreliable and only useful as range mags.
I run Chip McCormick's...
