Can You Get Flagged for Buying Too Much Ammo?

Pffft, amateur. Gotta stack it on the slab in the basement. :D Now if the earth’s orbit starts to become affected, you might want to start spreading it around.

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

Thanks for clarifying. And just to shore up my statement, it’s not that I don’t believe assault weapons exist as a concept - just that nailing down a particular item is difficult. Intent and use makes the definition for me. Sometimes an AR-15 is an assault weapon. Ive seen some idiot use one as...

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

*sheepishly raises hand* (But not in the original German. My German is limited to “Ich mus aus klo” and “das ist ein Panzer-ass!”

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

I don’t know if you are agreeing or disagreeing. But I think you and I are saying roughly the same thing. The term doesn’t matter; it’s too hard and nebulous to define - especially legally. Instead of a Hegelian pursuit of ever-narrowing terms, fight for the Constitutionally-protected right to...

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

This is my stance. For instance, let’s take the term “murder weapon.” It could be ANYTHING. Purpose and use defines it. If a candlestick sits on the mantle and lights the room, that’s one thing. But when you beat someone to death with it, it becomes eligible for the moniker “murder weapon.”...

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

I’m not saying they DON’T have sporting uses. But I’m tired of kowtowing to the gun grabbers and pretending that guns don’t have uses beyond target shooting and hunting. AR-15’s exist for many reasons.

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

Is my AR-15 an assault weapon? Depends how I use it. Frankly the whole “Modern Sporting Rifle” is a bunch of marketing hooey.

      Moving counties, not states

As I understand it, yes. Completely optional. It is only required if you move out of state, which theoretically would involve relocation of your NFA items across state lines.

Any one CC with empty chamber?

I now carry aluminum billet, a CNC machine, and portable generator - in addition to the well-appointed machine shop in the trailer behind my car. Bulky? Sure, but it does mean I can fashion whatever gun is necessary for the situation. Gang bangers trying to mug me? You’d best believe I got...

      Firearm visiting hospital

Having seen the effects of Kaiser’s care on patients, I would argue that their “healthcare” is more of a risk to the health and well-being of their patients than a gun on their premises.

Nice little shop you have there...

Purely because of this post, I’m considering a 90 minute drive to visit his shop. Can’t wait to see what’s in store.

      Inspecting/cleaning the CA bunker...

If you forgot about them, you probably wouldn’t mind putting them up for adoption? I promise to take good care of them and keep them well-oiled and fed! :D Seriously though - gorgeous pieces!

      Waist Bag Size Carry Options

Excellent point. Some travel packs have thin wire cables running through the belt to prevent this type of attack; I’m surprised Eberlestock hasn’t implemented this.

      2024 - HB430 - Firearms - Liability Insurance - Public Wearing and Carrying

New Jersey has tried this; already enjoined by Judge Bumb there. https://newjerseymonitor.com/2023/05/16/federal-judge-blocks-more-of-new-jerseys-new-concealed-carry-gun-law/

      Ammo & Gun Tax Proposal

Eventually this will get challenged, either here or in Commiefornia etc. Taxing a constitutional right is a slippery slope. But if it makes it to SCOTUS, I’m worried that Justice John “It’s a tax except when it’s a penalty” Roberts will weasel a decision ala Obamacare.

NM governor suspends open & concealed carry in Albuquerque for 30 days

Love to see it. I’ll be surprised if she is actually removed from office. I can hope, though.

Drives me nuts too. Common use includes self-defense, but not exclusively. Any. Lawful. Purpose.
