      Thermal and preparedness.

Thermal...it won't give you the identification at range that a good NV will but guaranteed it will detect things you would have never noticed with just NV. Thermal works In daylight too.

      Trijcon Huron vs Leupold VX-Freedom

Did some digging Trijicons website says the huron has Japanese glass. For my eye the accupoint glass compares more with the vx5 leupolds. Never looked through the Huron it may have different coatings and even though it still comes from Japan could be entirely different than what's on the...

      Trijcon Huron vs Leupold VX-Freedom

Is the glass In the Huron the same Japanese glass as the accupoint? If so that would blow away the glass in the freedom line.

      Getting them Ready/Deer Rifles

I've run the barnes 101lrx after filling a couple crop tags with the hornady 117gr sst. That bullet should be labeled vmax and not sst . I used the sst twice both shots around 300yds both times it came apart and never reached the opposite side rib cage. Both deer dropped where they stood with...

      Bambi Whacking 2023-2024

My youngest took another doe this evening. This one was much bigger. He did an amazing job of waiting for a shot on the biggest doe. We watched them feed for 40min slowly getting farther away but the one we wanted always had another in the way of a clear shot. Finally at just over 100yds she...

      Bambi Whacking 2023-2024

My youngest took a small doe today for the WV firearms opener. We have passed on a lot of deer during the last 2 weeks of bow season looking for a nice one but the opportunity never came. Now that gun season is in its time to fill freezers.

The brake on the sfar is extremely effective. It's also extremely loud! My 9 yr old used it for deer last year I slipped it in during a practice session where we had been shooting 6.5 Grendel and he didn't notice a recoil difference.

I love my sfar, haven't put it through any carbine classes or done any durability testing but it's been flawless for the 500 or so rounds I have through it so far. I bought the 16" mainly for a handy woods rifle while hunting the mountains.
