"I like shooting rifles, but I also like running my face over a cheese grater. I only wish there was a product that allowed me to shoot my AR while running my cheek over the top rail over and over again."
I see this as an even worse idea than piston conversions for DI ARs. With the buffer tube...
Keep searching his stuff to find his peyote stash. That's a cool knife. Obsidian cleaves down to a single molecule at the edge when it's knapped. It can make for an edge that will cut you without you knowing it.
I typically just lock the slide in a vice and then use a hand-clamp with a pusher-dowel to squeeze sights on or off. Works like a charm and you can make pretty small adjustments this way. Plus if you do any woodworking, you should already have plenty of clamps clamped around.
Shoot with both eyes open so the dot is superimposed on the target and you fill in the gaps you're missing with your non-dominant eye. You could put tape over the front of your red dot and still place shots on target just fine. It's the old school aim point method.
This genetic afterthought. I'm pretty sure he once liked a girl, but she said she won't date him because she doesn't like small arms. Being the moron he is, he assumed she meant guns and has spouted nonsent anti-2a propaganda ever since in a desperate attempt to get laid.

What's the front locking block area look like? It's fuzzy in the pictures above. Other question after seeing the plate... does the striker plunger freely move up and down? I'm wondering if the striker is interacting with the plunger in a way that's blocking its travel.
Good on you for sticking around for the welfare of the child. It seems like that other adult is an irresponsible person in a lot of areas.
As for exiting with a gun in your hand... one should try to at least be discreet. I've adjusted my holster getting out of the car, or changed from a good...
Ditto. Ive got a lot of ammo through these two and enjoy dropping the slide by seating the mag hard and slightly forward.
I'd think depressing the mag release wouldn't really decrease wear, since most of the force on it would be under recoil. I would think it would increase the likelihood of...
