I know crimping might be wise for a semi-auto like an M1 Garand. But for either a semi-auto or a bolt gun, will crimping help with accuracy because of more uniform and perhaps slightly greater neck tension?
Looking for a gunsmith who is familiar with and able to work on or build accurized 1911's...primarily for competitive bullseye shooting. Love to find one on the eastern shore are perhaps in the Annapolis area if possible.
Any suggestions?

118 pieces of 308/7.62x51 brass. Headstamps are mostly FC with some SAR and a couple of Norma thrown in. Dirty
If you have a few pieces of Hornady brass you wanted to send back to me...30.06 or 308 or 6mm Creedmore or 6.5 Creedmoor that would be great but if not, no problem.
But please don't...
I thought I had seen a list somewhere of outdoor ranges in Maryland but I can't seem to find it.
I'm a member at the Delmarva Sportsman's range in Sudlersville. I'm picking up some friends in DC and would like to take them shooting somewhere nearby.
Are there any "open to the public" ranges...
Thanks all for your input. I'm all ears if anyone else wants to chime in as well.
To answer the questions above...I'm using the Brass Juice (The Reloading Station) rifle case lube. When I used it a month ago it was flawless...absolutely flawless. But I think I let it dry just a little bit...
Reloading 30.06 for my Garands...reloading once fired Hornady brass on an RCBS RockChucker using used (to me) Redding dies. That brass I tumbled in a Frankford Arsenal Rotary Tumbler using the Brass Juice wash from the reloading station...unbelievably clean. Then the Brass Juice rifle case...
Finally setting up a well-used Lyman Model 55 that I picked up several years ago. I'm wondering if it will be more consistent than the Lee that came in my original anniversary press kit set up 15 years ago.
I have mounted it on a 24" by 24" piece of plywood so that I can bring it inside and...
I am loading for 30.06 using Hornady 150 grain 30 caliber bullets...spire points I believe...that have a cannelure/crimping ring (same thing???) on those bullets.
Do I HAVE to crimp those bullets?
I'm loading four different bullets for my 30.06 at the same time to test them. The other three...
No reason to NOT reload it. It's good brass. But I already have a couple hundred pieces of Lapua, Hornady, HXP and AMA. So just didn't want to further mix my brass. I want to settle on some loads I like that seem consistent and stick with them.
I already have too many headstamps so I don't need to mix things up further. If you can pick them up, they're yours.
50 pieces once or twice fired "ABT 7.62" brass. It took me a little research but I'm pretty sure that this is from American Ballistics Company...makers of REALLY high end match...
Anyone want to take a shot at identifying these grips? I know that they have been fairly common on 1911’s used in bullseye competitions. Herrett maybe?
I’ve had ‘em for well over a decade and never used ’em. So time to figure out what I have and sell ‘em.
I have approximately 100 Federal and 80 Lake City once fired pieces of brass…all fired from a Garand.
I want to either buy/trade for more Federal or Lake City brass OR
Trade this brass for Hornady or Lapua 30-06 brass OR
Give away this brass to a good and loving home where it will be reloaded...
