It's easy to get comfortable when it becomes a daily carry item. I've been carrying daily only since last October, and already it's become something I don't think about most of the time. It's not hard to imagine simply forgetting its' there. Both a good thing and a bad thing.
My God. Let's think this service tech thing through for a moment.
Wife and Kids. Fine scenario.
If the tech is an upstanding sort, he can bring a hand grenade in and it won't matter. No harm comes to anyone. Hey, there is a very slightly above zero chance that he'd be there when some bad...
It's largely an illusion at this point already for most people. It is difficult to maintain privacy now-a-days. Unless you live like a hermit, I suppose. Most people have willingly given it up at this point. Sad, really.
I believe in an armed populace. For me. For them. It'd be pretty hypocritical to expect someone whom I invited (for whatever reason) into my house to have to disarm first.
If never heard of this "press the mag release" technique. I occasionally finesse a mag in, but I don't trust it unless I slam it in. This is the way I was taught in BRM in the Army. I assumed it was the normal technique.
It seems like a perfectly reasonable understanding of the sign to me.
I am really curious how many people are going to abide by this BS come October and how many are just going to say "screw it" and do what they want. I suspect that most people won't admit to either, so will probably never...
Wowsa. Slow your roll. Plenty of time to throw the rant statements out after your, say, tenth post.
Not a lot of herd mentality here. Lots of head butting. Lots of disagreements. But, happily, if there is a herd it is that most of us will talk about anything gun related. Or anything not gun...
I'm not on the Eastern Shore, but the only terrestrial internet I can get is DSL. Very happily, there is a t-mobile 5g tower nearby. I pay for the T-Mobile home 5g internet. It's not expensive. It is reasonably fast (we stream at 5k all the time). It is true unlimited. They also pay for Netflix...
Seems like a smart enough guy. I don't like his "Condition three" default carry mode. His reasoning about making it more difficult for someone to use the weapon if you are disarmed seems faulty. Perhaps he'd be happier with a gun with a safety which would likely provide the same delay if someone...
It's been more than a day since OP has posted and I fear he may not come back. I hope he does. I think there is an opportunity for him to learn a lot. It can get a little rough here on MDS, but I don't think this thread has devolved to that yet. I think his concern about dry firing may enlighten...
Maybe.
There does seem to be a migration from failing liberal areas to conservative areas. The migration is of two different characteristics.
Number one, the dreaded Locust Effect, where folks ruin an area, decide to move to a better area, and not realizing it is their values that ruined area...
NH is not an unfriendly gun state and is generally quite pro freedom. Permitless open and concealed carry, castle doctrine, and stand your ground.
Maine, also, is open and concealed permitless carry and castle doctrine, though there is no stand your ground and you must retreat if able if away...
He did say scarce. But he also said ten rounds a year for a prolific hunter. Maybe for deer. Eating rabbit, squirrel, smaller things...probably more than ten rounds.
Interesting video.
To summarize his points...
1. "Elite" hunters use at most ten rounds a year. Four to zero. One to kill. Six deer equals ten rounds. So, 100 rounds should easily last ten years. Past that, get a bow.
2. The most prolific gunfighters use thirty rounds in their lives.
3. If you...
