How do you Mount a Dot Scope on a pistol?
It sits up rather high I have read it is too high to adjust elevation down to the target. It came with two 2mm(ish) rings I think those are supposed to go under the screws to help angle the scope down bit. I will try and see if I can get the elevation to work at 15 yards. My bud did bring this to the range. He did a quick bore sighting using that Vortex reddot and a cheap bullet laser and his shots at the range were really good. Gun ran flawlessly. I think he did like 100 rounds of 556. The below is from I think he said 25 yards. Just the grouping in the center... -

You can see on the detent where the thin part is wider than the body of the pin. The body fit perfect that end part just stopped without going in. -

Correct the spring was fine. The safety detent would go in but the end would not. Think of a .22 bullet in a chamber that is what it looked like with just the end being too big. -

Thanks! Once converted, it uses .38LC (long colt). I had never heard of this before. I assume this can be shot out of a 36 caliber barrel?- gungate

Question: Can these be converted to a cartridge? I want to leave them black powder of course but curious if it is something that can be done. Notwithstanding that it would require registering as pistols and all the legal stuff around that.- gungate

I got the Slixshot nipples in. Should I use any kind of loctite or just crank them down? Also I was a little disappointed with the holes having milling debris not cleaned out. I'll remove it before using.- gungate

No love for Heckler and Koch?
There are a couple transferrable VP70m's out there but not many. This was my first firearm ever. VP70z 1st polymer pistol (suck it, Glock!). Sidearm of the Colonial Marines (Aliens). Double-action only so it'll wear you out after a few mags. -

What are you guys using for a pouring station? I was going to mount the smelter on a piece of plywood and support it with a couple saw horses in my backyard.
