I've seen some of the park officials rifles, the ones I saw were 223 bolts, suppressed and use 40gr black hills ammo. Report wouldn't be god awful loud, but you'd hear the crack for sure.

I went through the same thing a few years ago....

I went through the same thing a few years ago. Thread a barrel is ~$140 or so. That's 1/2 the price of a decent bolt gun, that will be quieter than a semi. I choose the bolt route.

I've seen no difference in functionality from windowed vs non. Like you I have both now, not a big deal. I guess windowed helps the "operators" and "mall ninjas" have a visual before tactical reloads...

Your first post is correct. FFL can receive 30 round (STD mag) but cant sell to you in MD. That FFL can ship out of state and you pick up, that's fine.
