Got my grandpa's. He was a PI. It shoots dead on with 158 round nose. Can hold a man size silhouette at 50 yards. Aim at neck, drop into the body. Your going to love it.

How much does a smith charge to fix the timing in a revolver? Does shaving JHP and depositing chunks of jacket outside/on the forcing cone sound like a timing issue? Thanks.

Very good points. And I like that you said rifled length. The "barrel " is the same , but chamber takes away from rifle sections. Same could be said for a long throat 308 set up for 220's vs a 308...

Part on my issue is end shake. I think I am going get to get a shim package and fix that. Shims widen the cylinder gap so that isnt going to help velocity but it might cut down on the huge SD and ES....

You know this as a fact? You've bought buffalo bore and have chronograph it? I'm looking at their page right now and in a 5" S&W 27 they list a 158 JHP 1457 fps.

Want me to do the math for you?...
