Have the same issue. I've read its is a problem with quite a few of them. I ordered another adjustable rear sight and filed it down so I didn't have to ruin an original.

That is a nice rifle. I paid $570 for a 1957 last year. The finish on my action shows some slight wear but other than that everything looks good.
