Can't say I've ever had a bad experience at a gun shop. I think over the years I've bought from Anglers, Gun Connection, 2A Sales and Supplies, A1, Worth a Shot, and The Armory. Never a problem.

I don't think it's a bad idea to have an A2 front sight post. I do on most of my rifles, on purpose. I use an absolute cowitness and honestly when I'm shooting I don't even see the front sight post....

Yes it does. Magazine release, grip texture, and finger grooves have all changed with the generations. Afaik, gen 3, 4, and 5 are still made. I'd at least hold and feel them before choosing.
