I could be wrong but I donít think a 3d printed receiver will be nearly as strong as an injection molded one. It might be strong enough but I donít think they are equivalent.

I had to lookup the ManSon Duo lathe. Man that thing is neat 👍. There is a nice writeup about them on the lathes.co.uk web site. It makes my tiny Levin watchmakers lathe seem huge by comparison.

I did not mean to imply that a 5C collet will fit INTO a 1Ē hole just that a spindle that can take those collets will have at least 1Ē of pass through. Maybe I didnít phrase it clearly.
