I’ve never heard of 8M3 but SGA had some made. What is special about this ammo? They stopped making it in 2002.

It's a hollow point that actually fragments reliably. The rest of the 7.62x39 hollow points are just FMJs with an open tip that don't do as much.

I purchased some 8M1 Effect in Dec 2002 for $85 shipped. It was suppose to be accurate ammo with a strange tip but did not seem to shoot any better than FMJ.

It's a cutaway to prove it was lead core.

I love the 8m3 that SGAmmo is partnering to have made. That said, I believe it has issues fragmenting from SBRs, so make sure to do your research before you use it for hunting, varmints, or home defense. Not sure what the velocity dependence is.
