Huh, sounds to me like someone is trying to get the state to kill off their competition. Clever, if not original.

Someone check the donations to McKay. Paging SomeGuy to the white courtesy phone.
Looks like I nailed this on page one, and figures its the guy spamming the W&C forum with what looks like desperation posts.

I wonder if the author of the letter realized that those suggestions would also apply to him and his trainers.
I have a feeling the person that wrote those suggestions is the only person in the state that teaches those 40 hour courses. He knows what he's suggesting, and trying to make his course mandatory for all instructors in the state. I believe the current rate is $1000 or $1500 per student

MSP has a 71 page outline, that is far from a curriculum. His thought process is that to get MSP to make a full curriculum, per SB1, is to force instructors to pass a test on the subject matter and then potentially more training on specific subjects.

    I don't understand the logic.
The training requirements weren't anywhere in SB1. That was-

    HB 824

He does, he’s the only person that I know of in Md who has had the training he feels everyone needs… it’s MAG40 Training class couple grand just to take the class.. a week long money to stay where the training is so on and so forth.

I wonder what they can do, maybe require insurance, maybe some many classes a year, or have a permanent place to teach aka not out of their living room. They could also push for continuing education.

My bets are the ins, a place to teach and education. They cant attack the person so much as make it pricey.
More by machinations by Wes Moore-on to weaken Bruens impact?

Sent and I even told him I would be willing to go over everything we are required to now with him or his staff. Heck I said I would even give him or his staff the class for free, as I already do it for free.
Several of us have reached out and offered the same.
Perhaps we need to reach out as a group of instructors to all of the Republicans on the committee and explain the process, even though Senator James is an instructor (I think).

I think there is a special place in Hell for these people in Md and all the other 2A hating states.
There, at least, a special place n hell for any instructors that would try to remove their competition by suggestion additional training and certification that most can't afford and only the instructor making the suggestion can teach in Maryland.

I did not understand the answer that was given from McKay, why put more or add stuff to an already cumbersome system. For a God given right more chit needs to be done.
How about introducing a bill to reduce government bull-chit, do we think a brave Republican will do that. F- the MSP and the politicians i believe this is some back door stuff going on and McKay is falling for it.

Edit*** i emailed a letter to Sen. McKay explaining the infringements we already have and the funnel effect and cost this SB would cause.
Hopefully it does not fall on deaf ears

Could be CQD from over here.
I’d be careful before I threw any names around without being certain.
They have a lot of pull because of who they train and what they do.
I’d be surprised if this was anyone from Salisbury but who knows anymore.

Yeah, throwing names is dangerous unless proof can be established, It baffles me why gun people would try and screw other gun people knowing the BS we all have to go thru for a God given right.

    This will effect :

    Cost
    Travel to other zip codes
Turning over more control to the MSP
    Longer wait dates to train
Screw the small trainer that is making a little money on the side
