Did they approve your livescan prints and issue your FL CCW? Just wondering as it's one thing to submit, but quite another for them to approve the livescans. Also, did you have a law enforcement agency or some authorized by a law enforcement agency that has their stamp, to stamp the card? Just seems FL has a few more hoops to jump through for non-residents.

Yes I was approved. They were taken by the Loudoun County SO

good luck going to cross n y state
Not an issue for me, as a former NYC CCW permit carrier, I was reissued it about 7 months ago. They could not disapprove a renewal as having one already. USC Title 14 sections 522 and 523 help.

just checked their website and it shows my florida permit was approved today! they say another week or two to print and mail it. so today is about a month after i applied online, including having to send another set of prints as the first set weren't done by actual law enforcement.

the big benefit for me will be, if i hit a gun show and find something i can't do without, i can take it home, removes the 3 day wait (and in the case of a gun show, traveling to where the shop is to pick it up).

    My experience was:
Applied for MD CCW, live scan, DD 214. While in the "not disapproved" phase, went to my Florida home and made appointment on line.
    Completed app at tax office.
Oddly, although I had a copy of my very recent live scan from MD, Fl requires it's own.
They do the scan there as well.
The website says you need a separate check for the livescan, however they did all on one CC.
As a vet you're entitled to ask for expedited processing. Got mine in about 3 weeks

If we're applying by mail, how do we ask for/request expedited processing? If I include my DD214, will they automatically expedite the process, or do we specifically have to request?

Magerko, I began the process online, which offered the option to ask for expedited. I attached DD214
Thanks Allan. I've been procrastinating for the last year due to having to get ink fingerprints. Yeah, probably not that big of a deal but it is a PIA compared to having digital fingerprints. When I went through the MD CCW training program, the instructor had a fingerprint lady come into the classroom to do fingerprints right there. I had already applied for my CCW several weeks prior, using my DD214 to waive the training requirement, which allowed me to submit my application quickly. I decided to attend the training for personal knowledge, plus the opportunity to shoot 100 rds at the range to qualify. In addition to getting my MD CCW training certificate, he also gave me a CCW training certificate for Florida, so if I could have used digital prints, I could have had my FL permit a year ago. With work, life, and procrastination, I just have never gotten around to jumping in my truck to drive wherever to get ink prints. But the wife and I miss the beaches in DE, so I need to get FL to carry there, so I'll have to make time to get those ink prints. Still, a PIA compared to digital prints, lol.

My nonresident ccw expired last month. Don't really need it.

Thread revival instead of starting another...

What's the closest place for Florida Ink Prints to the Glen Burnie/Ft Meade areas?

    Time for renewal. :innocent0
