    Montgomery County
Public hearing was almost 8 weeks ago; the staff report on the public testimony is not yet available.
Don't think for a second that they are not working behind the scenes to help push anything 'local' to coincide with what will be a very active anti 2A session in Annapolis.

I'll bet my buttocks they are watching NY and the travesty that they pushed through at state level (which has yet to be pounded out of existence...I'm waiting and hoping for that ass whipping by the courts)

The good thing is NY will get slapped down, making MD and Mo Co think before doing the same thing. But they are arrogant enough to do it again, no matter the expense to the taxpayers

No skin off their back and no money out of their pocket. They will try to suppress our rights using our money.

Really the most spaced out person i've read about. Same as the Mom's Demand Action people.
“Bill 21-22 will protect Montgomery County residents from armed threats to our citizens and places where they work, play and socialize,” said Mindy Landau of Brady United Against Gun Violence. “Our children should not have to fear that someone with a gun will invade their safe space for learning and playing.”

They really don't understand the word FEAR.

So if I read it right, 57-11 does not apply if you have an HGP. Is that correct.

I am more concerned with 57-10 Keeping guns on person or in vehicles. 57-10 does not exclude permit holders. Does the "Lawful Mission" clause allow for wear and carry in 57-10?

IANAL but I don’t think it does. MSI is challenging Mo Co authority to ban rifle carry under preemption 4-209

They are trying to say permit holders are not exempt from this proposed law

They are going to lose and they know it

Someone lawyerly needs to send an official letter to the county board that under bruen carry out side the home is legal under the constitution, carry with a permit in maryland is legal per bruen. Restricting the rights to carry with in 100 yards is against bruen, and they are doing it under the color of law and they open themselves to claims under section 1983. Then have a list of people with permits who travel with in 100 yards of any of the things they want to restrict ready. Heck have the complaint all filled out and ready to drop off at the courts.

I mean literally have a stack of a hundred or more lawsuits naming the people who have been harmed naming the people who would vote for the bill. Inform them that they pass the bill they will all have hundreds of lawsuits against them with in the hour. And that they cant hide behind the job for 1983 claims.

MSI has testified against this bill already and has all but told the County if they pass this they will be sued and lose.

OK, I'm new to the group and MD Politician's mindset. What is an 'undetectable' gun? Will there be cops on every street corner doing searches to verify you do not posess a firearm?
Welcome aboard and thank you for posting an intro

Except for Die Hard 2, and the porcelain Glock 7, there is no such thing as an undetectable gun (John Malkovich weeps)

My suggestion is ignore this bullshty, have a large glass of Lagavulin 16, and BOLO the next MDS meetup.

yes I am and have donated several hundred extra this year to them beyond the membership.

I dont mean sue the county to stop the bill, I mean sue the board members under 1983 claims, screw just trying to stop the law. 1983 claims go after the person restricting rights personally, with jail time and fines that they personally have to pay. Make them have some skin in the game.

My drive to my office takes me with in 100 yards of 7 churches.

OK, so this is a proposed bill to remove the exemption for permit holders in 57-11, got it. It has not been voted on or passed.
